what color to patin my dual sport

Hey sorry for putting this in the 3rd gen but you guys have such wonderful taste i am hoping you can give me some input as to what color scheme i should go with for my 1983 honda xl 185. I am going to paint the frame all the panels and any other misc. trim/fenders. I do like the Red and black (original) but i'd like to make it a little more original - maybe some white or silver. I will be painting the tank as well. Hopefully this doesn't get booted.. thanks guys, and any photoshop is always accepted

It will be used on the street as well as trails.. and has to look good sitting on the back of the 4runner

I'm not sure how much input you will get in this thread, but being a Honda guy myself I will give my input. To me if I had the bike I would restore it back to the factory color scheme. To me nothing looks better than a freshly restored classic Honda. After all Hondas are red.

I agree with keeping it with factory paint colors. Personally, I've always been partial to the color schemes they used on the CB line from about 75-80. Someday, I'll snag one of those.

I love the orignal too! but i would do the color skem like you truck! there is a guy around were i live that has a blue 07+ tundra with 6inch lift and some black wheels and he tows an air boat with the same wheels and some blue color and it looks so cool! that bike would look cool with color code from your truck silver fenders and black wheels! I think it would look so dam cool!

Hahaha wow that is one hell of a skill!! Thanks for the input and I agree with factory paint scheme and red.. I am thinkin I am going to go with a dominant white tho and keep the frame etc red. If you guys thought removing 15 year old bolts was hard...

I had a 73 SL 125 that was yellow skin and blue frame, maybe do red tank, white frame? Some sweet modern stickers off a new bike?

If it were me and I was going to paint it differently than that or factory original, I'd paint it all black. It'd look bad ass (like mad maxx or something) and go well with your truck.

Also, fun looking bike and your truck looks great too!

I've got a '75 Yamaha DT250 (orange, white, and black with some chrome) and while it's pretty easy to work on, it's a pain finding good parts for it. I still need to re-jet my carb on it and am hoping that gets it running right again...

okay you guys had some great suggestions.. i did like the all black but didnt want to do the whole frame.. here it is I still need to add the decals ...NOW onto getting it running right.. anyone have experience with this issue - my turn signals will not blink they just stay on like a headlight would, when i rev it hard sometimes they start to blink? I just put a brand new battery in as well.. and when i hit the switch for the turn signal my brake light flickers..
