What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Just a small little mod, I installed my Tufskinz foam inserts into the center console. I went with black with the gray insert to match the black and gray dash. Quick and easy mod but it adds a nice contrast and will help protect the stock plastic which had started to get scratched up a bit. Before, as I was cleaning up the cupholders

And installed, I had originally thought about doing blue but thought it might look tacky, I'm really liking the accent look with the gray and black. Matches the dash nicely

nice, can you post a link or part number for these? i'm guessing these aren't necessarily 5th gen specific? wonder how this setup would work with the king reservoir bracket... may end up going with the icon hydraulic bump stops that sit inside the coils

Whoa, nice job deadening. I did everything except the inside door skin. Maybe I'll look into doing that in the future if I upgrade any further and the speakers get more power from aftermarket amps. Thanks for the tip, I wonder if Focal makes a 3.5inch mid that'll fit in the dash... Time to Google

Whole truck is deadened other than the front passenger foot area and the roof. I have the material to finish but I haven't had the time. I will be removing both front seats to install my amps so I will take care of it at that time.

As for Focal 3.5" coax speakers, they don't exist to the best of my knowledge. If you find something, please post it up as it's something I would like to know about as an option.

Awesome. I did roof, outter door skins, hatch area, hatch door, and floor. I believe I did a post in this thread when I first got the truck about a year ago.

Tailgate was my only issue. I did the inner and outer skin and then the tailgate wouldn't stay up lol. Truck was only a few months old so struts were still perfect, just couldn't handle the added weight. Ended up going with heavy duty struts so the tailgate stayed up like it should.

I installed my ARB flat steel roof rack. I couldn't find any photos of this rack online when I was researching racks. I found 2 of their alloy mesh flat rack, but none of this one.

Finally installed the rear black trim piece and painted and installed my other Rago panel. I didn’t intend to install both panels, but they’re so nice I quickly changed my mind!

Also detailing the inside after a camping trip. Not as fun as getting it dirty. [emoji53]

Help!

Just got my 2012 SR5 a couple months ago and made my first priority to get rid of all the chrome and fix the cracked headlight. I de-chromed the whole front end and installed new TE headlights last weekend. This weekend I tried to tackle the exterior door handles. Front driver door went great. Then I totally blew it on the rear driver door. Something didn't sound right after I got the new handle installed... it was making a mild clunking noise when I pulled on the new handle. I thought it might have just been because the latch was still loose since I had to remove it to access one of the screws inside the door. So I put everything except the interior trim back together, but the sound was still there. Then out of complete curiosity I flipped the child safety lock and it went into the lock position but would not return. Now I was really confused as to what the problem was... and then I accidentally shut the door. I had a sinking feeling almost immediately. I tried pulling on the handle... nothing. I can hear the locking mechanism actuating when I hit the lock switches, but I can't get the door to open with the handle.

I tossed the interior trim in the garage and gave up for the day. I feel pretty dumb for letting that door shut. I'm thinking I might have to unbolt the door from the hinge, but I don't know if I'll be able to release it from the latch and don't want to mess anything up worse. I don't know if anyone on here has any thoughts on how to proceed, but I'm at a loss right now... :wtf:

I fixed the gap between the fairing and the light bar. I made an extension for the fairing to fit up under the light bar. The extension was cut from a sheet of black, 3mm thick, Sintra PVC board. Getting it cut to the correct angles for a close fit took a lot of trial and error. The extension was sprayed with a coat of Krylon UV-resistant clear for extra protection from the sun:

The extension was mounted using exterior grade double-sided tape. Then I used a black silicone adhesive to create a fillet along the edge, to reduce wind resistance:

There is still some tiny gaps, but I've put an end to the whistling noises.

I had to Google that, never heard of lithophonic stones before. Very interesting.
