What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Installed my throttle controler today.........Can't belive what a difference this Sprint unit made. Looks like I'll be leaving at the Sport 5 level. In race mode it JUMPED.......Install was 30-45 minutes, and fairly easy. So all in all very pleased.

Great, glad you like it! I still can't believe these trucks leave the factory this way. Still have some more in stock.

Replaced the dash speakers with some 3 1/2" powerbass coaxials. Better, but not amazeballs. Still worth the $20 experiment though.

Just now finished installing my new daystar level kit in the front only... man! What a PITA. I thought it was going to be a lot easier. I'll have to finish up the rear tomorrow - hopefully that goes smoother.

Feel like the front lifted 5" not 2.5" kind of hoping it settles a bit..

Just now finished installing my new daystar level kit in the front only... man! What a PITA. I thought it was going to be a lot easier. I'll have to finish up the rear tomorrow - hopefully that goes smoother.

Feel like the front lifted 5" not 2.5" kind of hoping it settles a bit..

This is extremely simple and should take 2 hours tops. What issues did you run into? You pop the upper control arm ball joint, remove the 3 nuts that hold the shock to the upper shock mount, drop everything down, put the stud extensions on, put the spacers on, put it back together. I did this on a hill with the truck parked in a corner against a curb so it wouldn't roll in the parking lot of an apartment complex on a 2016 Tacoma about 2 years ago in 95* heat, went off without an issue.

Got it from a member on here, just wish I could source that JBL trim panel...

Here's a better pic of the enclosure installed, all the stock holes were tapped and ready for install, just like my 08 was.

I have all the wires run except for the power wire and that will have to wait until the sun moves off the driveway and I have a bit more shade. Good progress though for sure!

Good deal, I've been looking for a factory enclosure also with no luck. Anyway for the trim panel, just made a wood frame, wrap in speaker grill cloth, and screw it to the outside of the plastic panel from the inside if that makes sense. Screws from the inside, grill on the outside, it'll look nice and clean.

Looks sick can I see what kind of ground clearance that gave you up front and rear?

Hopefully the pics i attached show everything. Some guy in a facebook group wanted some info and this was easier than uploading three times the pics along with descriptions haha.

TLDR - I need to do a fender liner adjustment and maybe trim it but i currently do not rub at all whatsoever but might hit the front fender liner when wheeling and flexed out.

Might as well post my third post in a row to drown this thread with pics of my 4Runner. Almost a week into having this lifted and I love it. Although I still want to go full Lawndart mode with long travel and 35s and a ton of armor. I also need a real camera and to start wheeling this thing. Baby steps

New driving lights. Turn them on and they are white. Off and back on and they go yellow. More like an orange. But they claimed 2600 lumen for white and about half that for orange.


Returning them. They get out of sync. Don’t waste your money. Cool concept. If they only worked

Took my 4runner to the dealership yesterday to finally replace both LCAs due to cam bolts being seized, good thing I have extended warranty. I held off on it due to a move last year but it drove fine on my cross country move (SC to AK) lol. Anyways, at the same time... told them I had grinding/pulsating feel on the pedals, therefore told me brake pads/rotors were bad and wanted to charge me $1100 for front and back. I said F that, and bought powerstop z36 from Amazon. I’ll probably replace myself or a local mechanic I know do it for $240 if I get too busy.
