I don’t know who’s car this is. But this guys crashed into the parked 4Runner and looks like the car took most of the damage. Happened at Costco parking lot in San Jose, CA. If you know who’s truck this is tell them to contact me. I witnessed it happen. Black 4Runner lifted with bronze SCS stealth 6s and extra wheel on the hatch. US NAVY sticker on the back window and lots of patches on the headliner. I had to leave and didn’t get to take any more pics.

Well if it can happen to a Jeep it can happen to anybody!!! There was a thread a few weeks back and seems like a 4Runner tipped over at this very same spot.

It can happen to anyone. The large group in front of us were not using spotters as they went down that slope which possibly could have prevented the accident. We ended up turning around and making our way back to the fire road. It was tough though.
Dropped in a TRD air filter. Now that my fuel economy seems stable I’m going to add parts, one at a time, and track changes. Right now I’m only using the 4Runner to commute to work so every tank of fuel will be identical in use. Up next will be the TRD CAI I have waiting to go in, then possibly exhaust?

Hit a deer the other night @ 01:30 in the morning going to work. It's the wife's car. Oh man had some explaining to do. Now looking for a Metal Tech bumper as a replacement. I like what I see on Metal Tech's web site. I know of them from owning a 2007 FJ Cruiser TRD SE since 2007. Mark and company at metal tech make some great products. I've wheeled with Mark a couple of times at brown's camp years ago.
I love that you are going to track these changes. I wish I would have, I look forward to seeing the outcomes.

I have the TRD intake with an AFE Pro Dry filter, Borla muffler with stock pipes, and I gained nothing in terms of economy. I noticed slight power gains with the intake and filter but the muffler swap yielded a noticeable difference in acceleration and passing power.

Busy weekend. Put in the net I grabbed from [MENTION=137810]KingTaco[/MENTION]. I'll have to play with the adjustments. Nothing is ever made for tall people.
Caved and parted out the trd intake wholesale to get what I needed to fit it to the arb snorkel. It was less then half retail. Sounds a bit more truckish. Definitely pulling more air (snorkel grate rattles at high rpms from the pressure). Seems to have improved the throttle response...
...enough for me to dial my pedal commander back...time will tell if that's placebo or not. Will have to go back and silicone the drain port in the trd airbox, then I'm going to pull the loom apart again and try something different (really awkward maf position), and get some 3m double sided zip tie mounts for the side of the airbox (factory location for the loom).
Did a little night run to test out my new air compressor and deflator setup. Lucked out made the right purchases. Think it's about as fast as the process can possibly get. Ready for 33" s for sure.
Lift and tires this weekend with any luck.

So, larger diameter intakes and wider exhausts to free up more power is just a myth huh? Definitely not more fuel and oxygen mixing inside the engine.
Toyota claims 5-15whp with supporting mods. I don't see it being far fetched that I'm getting a bit more air being shoved in there are some minor gains on it's own. Not on the bottom end, only on the top, and prob like 5 or less whp. I'm also leaning on faster air velocity, hence my snorkel grate vibrating, and the perceived gains in throttle response.
Mostly just chu chu noises tho which is really why I got it. Thing has slightly more character now.
