I am not naming the dealership because the first dealership I called would not sell me the wheels because I did not have a Pro VIN. They told me this was Toyota’s corporate policy.

I ran into that a few years back getting the TRD intake (labeled for Tacoma). Now I just give them the part number when ordering anything.

Since I have the rack off waiting for the paint to cure figured I would add the delete rack kit.
Came home and thought I had a Tacoma for a second.

Figured out how to run my own speaker wires to the rear doors using the factory connector inside the grommet. No snaking wire through taped up looms and grommets.

You have to have a multimeter to find out which wires on the door side of the connector map to the speaker connector.

Then you have to find the corresponding wires on the cab side of the connector and release the terminals.

Then get the same terminals and crimp them to your own speaker wire.

Main benefit: this isolates the rear and hatch speakers from the series wiring, so you can run rears and hatch speakers they way you want with plenty more options and choices.

Hatch: Ran my own wire to the hatch speakers as well. Had to snake through the grommet there.

I have wanted to do a variation on this. My version is run an entirely new wire from amp to door speaker. Then solder the two original speaker wires together inside the door, thus putting them in parallel rather than series. This would reduce the load and allow more wattage from amp to all rear speakers. Unless I have this wrong?

Cargo/sleep platform is pretty much done. Into it for less then $300 bucks with some nice carpentry tools added to the collection. I would be interested in seeing what the extra $1000 gets you with goose gear setup...siiike!

You should pull it out and make full size templates on butcher paper. Add a set of instructions and sell them here for $25 a pop. Add all the hardware for an extra $$.

It looks great. I have thought about pulling the drivers side out. I sleep there on solo trips rather than wrestle with the RTT. Much simpler.

That’s a great idea I use something very similar myself when camping. Not a fan of having anything drawing from the starter battery. Trucks are heavy enough without a dedicated dual battery setup. Everything I use in camp has its own battery. Might do a goal zero at some point if my camping intervals pick up.

I bought a couple of the 26000mah rechargeable batteries on amazon. They are physically about the size of a small laptop battery. They charge via usb or 110v with an adapter. Each has two usb ports. Sooo i can recharge a cell phone from it, or any other usb device. I have added clamp on usb fans for my tent, lights, will power a bluetooth speaker, string lights... anything that runs or charges off usb. I have a single odyssey battery for the 4runner and run a fridge. For back up I also carry a jump pack that can also charge usb devices. And jumper cables for absolute back up.

I heard that people usually 'jumper' the hatch speakers, but not sure if that would work at the rear doors. It *might* work, but I don't know.

I ran my amp output wires to the b-pillar for the rear doors pictured in the previous post. Have yet to power them up as Crutchfield is delivering today. So maybe on the weekend, or during the next week. Ah...to be single without kids again...

I have the same one and can attest it is awesome. Also fits perfectly in the back on one of the side trays.
All of their products are nice and durable. I met them at Expo one year and was impressed.
They use to sell a complete tool kit with the bag, not sure if they still do that.

8-24mm sockets
8-22mm wrenches
5/8 spark plug socket (hopefully never have to use this)

screwdrivers
vice grips/pliers (various)

It’s a decent idea. But, it’s currently 112 degrees so if people can wait till fall maybe I’ll do that.

Installed the Rad Rubber splash guards to eliminate the annoying rattle the stock pieces caused and adjusted the hood stoppers to eliminate the nasty vibration and squeak it created.

I’ve read others greased the latch to stop the noise, but that wasn’t necessary on mine after a twist of each stopper to raise them slightly.

The silence is SO satisfying. Taking it down a washed out forest service road tomorrow for the real noise test.

This morning, I installed the cargo divider onto my newly acquired sliding cargo deck I put in a week ago. Then I put yellow Lamin-x film over the LED fogs. I couldn't stand the blue-white light, especially with the yellow-ish halogen headlights. The extreme yellow isn't really better looking than the hyper white, but it should work better for fog and rain. Lastly, I installed the TRD skid plate. I was pleasantly surprised to find skid plate bolts already installed. No need to chase threads or anything. Plus I used the shorter bolts that were already on the vehicle because the long ones included with the plate create too much work. Now off to wash it since it's going to be nice for a few days.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here but I’ve got the bug again.

Got my LFD sliders ordered and in production, my Rago rear molle panels ordered, and my new med kit arrived today.

Looking forward to getting back out there and starting to bring my 2 year old son with me.
