I was Traveling from Madison WI to the western burbs of Chicago down I-90 in the middle of a snow storm and icy conditions. Pulled three cars out of a ditch with a fellow Good Samaritan ( And Toyota owner he had a current gen taco TRD Off-road). I happened to have my recovery gear (straps and d hooks) in the back. Quick hook ups and put in 4 Low and got them out. Within a mile span we pulled out 3 cars that had lost it And ended up in the ditch. The 4Runner did it with such ease, first time I ever did anything like this!

Doing an oil analysis on the Shell Rotella and switched to Kirkland brand oil.

sleeping platform/storage for the back, ordered a 50 watt radio, and a couple small things. Almost ready for our week trip to baja. Should cover almost 1000 miles.

I finally got around to installing some of my Black Friday goodies. Put in Baja Designs S1 ditch lights and squaredrons both in amber. The light output is amazing. Very happy with the upgrade. I'll get some pictures up for y'all soon.

My install went off without any issues. Rear camera still works as normal.
Depress the AOB Rear camera switch when in any gear, camera comes on.
AOB Switch dims properly just as the other switches do.
EDIT: On the AOB Switch wiring pictured, I connected the red to red on the ABC wire & the AOB green to orange ABC wire. Polarity correct!

Did the following:
1. Added Engineaire cyclonic prefilter snorkel head. Does the same thing as the 250 to 300 dollar hipster bullshit "sy-clonic" head.
2. RCI aluminum gas tank skid: RCI redesigned the outer front lip due to customer feedback.
3. RCI rear diff skid for KDSS: protects the elocker, and wasnt too difficult to install even with KDSS
4. RCI rear shock skid: protects the lower shock mount.
5. midlands mtx115 gmrs/frs radio and have the dildo antenna mounted to the prinsu rack on front passenger side.
Need to do / waiting to be installed:
1. rear chase lights (diode dynamic ss2)
2. upgrade front and rear springs to kings 700 and dobinsons heaviest springs (forgot the designation) waiting to be installed. currently have toytec superflex and kings 550s installed but definitely need to upgrade after adding a rear bumper in future.
3. RCI lower link skids: are currently not compatible with my sliders, so will have to have shop cut and weld them.
4. LED lights to ARB awning.
5. change all fluids.

On the Mitsubishi Outlander and Ford Edge, was able to hook to either hooks in the frame or a support frame underneath. In the Hyundai tiburon there was nothing underneath so we dropped both of the front windows and put the strap through the car lol.

Get back in the cars. You're just asking to get wrecked by the next car sliding off the road.

Finally washed and cleaned my 4Runner tonight after our 128 mile off road trip through the desert. The ceramic coating has been great. Wheels clean up easy.

Did you put a color changing overlay on the navigation/infotainment trim? If so, where did you get it? It's hard to tell in the light, but it doesn't look silver or black like normal.

No, Gamma Ray, no overlay. It was the lighting in the photo.
Same trim as seen on the bezels around the shifter console area.

Thanks for the info. The hunt continues! There are overlays galore for 2019 and earlier, but nothing for 2020 and up. I want to cover the silver on my SR5 so bad. I might end up painting it at some point if an overlay doesn't come out. I'm thinking about getting that ICS dash mount thing, so the head unit's got to come out for that anyway. Might as well paint it at that point. I'm not sure if the ICS thing works on the 2020, though.

Didn't do this today but man this sucked ...
After doing a recovery in the rain, in ankle deep in mud bare foot. I had to spend 5hrs to clean the rig, wash my recovery gear, wash my winch line and re-tension it.
Nissan Titan 2wd stuck in a drainage ditch on the side of the hill. Recovery took 80ft of my winch line, 1 - 30ft kinetic rope, and 4 - 25ft tow straps; daisy chain together. Mud soo bad it required me to be strapped to a manhole cover just to keep me from being dragged down the hill.

Did my first oil change on the 4Runner. The first 2 were free and part of the "Toyota (doesn't) care" program as part of the warranty. Anyway, it wasn't too bad, and was a nice way to break in the new garage. I jacked her up and put her on jack stands and left the jack as a backup, although it wasn't needed.
I removed the stock skid plates, there's 3 total, 2 steel and 1 plastic. This is the main engine skid that you have to drop to get to the oil filter.
I had bought a bunch of these TRD oil filters on clearance, gotta get that extra 5 HP ya know lol
Overall the quality of these filters are really good, and since I got them for clearance you can't beat it.
I also picked up an aluminum oil filter housing to replace the plastic housing that are known to crack. I had a HELL of a time getting the plastic one to break loose.
You have to swap the inner tube from the plastic housing to the metal one.
Mobil 1 as always, the only way to go
Last November I bought this RCI skid plate with the oil filter door during a Black Friday sale.
And here's the engine skid installed. I also got the bumper filler plate in the front and installed that as well. Here's a couple pics of them installed.
I also bought these some time last year, and was waiting until the truck was in the air, so I decided to throw these on as well. They are RAD Rubber Designs engine bay splash guards for the inner fenders.
The stock ones are flimsy and known to fail, no issues with mine so far, but I definitely had a lot of salt getting into the engine bay before. Here's a before of the stock ones.
And here's a little side by side, you can see how much thicker and better quality these new rubber ones are.
And here's the passenger side installed, the lighting was being a beotch
And here's another pic of the skids installed once the truck was back on the ground. Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and the fitment. I bought this mainly for the oil filter access, but it's also nice knowing that I have a quality engine skid plate now as well.

I also replaced the rubber seal on my GOBI wind deflector. The one that GOBI for some reason didnt want to sell to me ... It took 2months of back and forth and then I gave up ...
the rubber door seal I bought from Amazon worked perfect. It's higher quality than the original unit.
