What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Found a used set of 33” Falken wildpeak m/ts near me and got them installed. Paired with the 1.25” spidertax spacers, the stance is perfect. I’m in love with the look. They do rub the body mount but pretty much only at full lock. Not as bad as I thought it would be so I’ll roll with it until I can figure out what bmc I’m gonna do. I already removed the mudflaps and trimmed the front bump so no issues there.

plate and light?

If you have the victory 4x4 jerry can, you can mount it there (use button head screws on the can side) or to the tire carrier portion.

On my bumper:
most of the time, i have it on my tire carrier.

For when i have to use a trasharoo (which is rare): i mount my plate to my ladder, and pray i don't get pulled over for no light.

I'm going to mount my light and plate permanently to my jerry can once i get a new jerry can holder in.

As for wiring, easiest is to use your hitch connection, so you don't splce into the wiring behind your taillight.

cheers.

This is the way... tie the light into the wiring harness for the trailer lights. I just installed a cbi rear bumper and I put mine under the Jerry can holder.

Found a spot for my spare axle. Fits under the turn buckles pretty good. Saran Wrap is just to keep grease off my interior. 2nd row seats still has full range of motion.

I had changed the rear suspension from my Bilstein's to Fox because I could get the longer shock to accommodate my heavy springs in the rear. Finally got my fronts to match the rear and installed them, my OCD would not allow me to run mixed suspension :D

looked at a 23 sr5 prem. this past weekend and realized how I need to have my 2017 DETAILED!!! ......still enjoying the 2017 with how its set up

2014 SR5 with 336K miles. Tire rotation, power steering fluid flush.

Oh wife had new windshield installed yesterday. Probably the 4th one for this 4Runner.

Looked for source of sheet metal rattle on passenger side front when driving over washboard roads. It is not rear skid plate as I pulled that and the noise persists. Unlikely the exhaust heat shields as they are intact and tight. Running out of targets here.

what about the exhaust manifold heat shield?

5.5 hours of cleaning every inch of the interior (kids + camping = gross interior!).You wouldn't believe the amount of snackfood i found under the seats. Also installed a brake controller I got for free. I did not want to drill so I used velcro and pulled the dummy switch. Just need it functional for the summer. I would prefer a Redarc!View attachment 405592View attachment 405593

Function over form! So glad I installed this brake controller or I would have had a bad outcome with a large deer while towing! Can't recommend trailer brakes enough.

Yesterday I installed some skid plates. Bought RCI engine and trans skids off a dude with a GX. The engine skid bolted up, but trans skid had to be shortened by about 3.5”. I got a C4 transfer case skid from another guy and put that on as well.

Today, I chopped my body mounts and using the scrap steel from the RCI trans skid, I cut up some filler plates. Now I just need to wait for my buddy to have some free time so he can weld them on for me.

Looks like you started down that slippery slope, but in a less expensive way. So, all the RCI skids are steel? I know C4 just comes in steel. That’s what I have from the Pro integration plate to my rear diff skid.

Went and switched out the 285/75s for 35x11.50s. Put it on the RTI ramp and everything clears so now just got to schedule a regear but torn between 5.29s and 4.88s. Nice Miami Vice style pic to commemorate

Post up a couple additional pics. I’d like to see a profile view too. TIA
If I ever decide to move up from 33’s, I will go directly to 35’s and regear with a front locker. Did you upgrade your front axles?
I really like your rear bumper.

Yes down the slippery slope I went… Now I need to find the gas tank skid I was originally looking for… But yes the RCI skids are steel.

Got a new OEM windshield on my ORP. Only 14k miles and already needing new stuff. Ergh!

Even though it is OEM, there is no tint strip at the top of the windshield. It may be that Toyota doesn’t tint aftermarket or ??? May look into front tint now. Especially with summer heat and sun coming up.

Barely 1k miles since I got a new windshield and I just got ANOTHER rock chip in the windshield!!! Went to the same shop and made an appointment on Friday morning. Hopefully it doesn't spread like the last one and they can successfully repair it. It's in the lower passenger corner by the windshield wiper.

This was on the way home from a minor service at 15k.

I need a drink...

Yea, I'll throw in a front locker when I do the regear. Already have the compressor and everything from the rear locker so might as well. I just use OEM CVs. I have only broken 1 which is pretty good considering what I ask of them. If I start popping them every other time I go out, it may be worth it to switch to the RCVs but I can change a CV a lot easier than a ring and pinion so until I start having a problem, I'll keep the CV as the weak point in the system.

The biggest thing going from 33s to 35s is the amount you have to trim or remove from the wheel well but I think C4 is about to release their fitment template/kit at some point soon which will make that process a little easier.
-BMC, fender trim (plastic and metal) and pushing in the fender liner,
pinch welds need to be hammered, I had to do a washer reservoir
relocation, 3/4" bump extensions in the front.... if you haven't started
this process it will probably be a full day of cutting to get them fitted
properly but it really isn't all that bad. My fender trim is pretty ugly right
now but I'll get around to beautifying it in the future.

All I got right now with the 35s on vvv
