Yea and i loving having part time 4wd vs full time.. i wanted the kdss and the rear locker.. and i also got my first choice color.. black

Went to the toyota dealership yesterday to check out some parts and saw a new '13 4runner SR5. Checked it out to see any differences vs the older models and noticed it came with full-time 4wd.... It had the knob to turn instead of the shifting lever.
Just thought I'd put it out there

Negative. It's still PT 4WD, just went to a knob vs the shifter.
Yup, it is now like the Tacoma and Tundra. It is still part time but a knob actuates the 4WD instead of a lever.

Lights and rollers
I spent "the day" rewiring 4 Hella lamps for the Gobi. The Hellas are off Antman's ride - thanks for the pay-it-forward! They will be like a set of donor eyes for the 4R. :wacko:
The wiring went quick and I mounted Gobi bases to brackets. Now, I only need my Gobi replacement rack to arrive (3 months and counting) to get these mounted and wired.
I guess in the meanwhile I going going to pick up weatherseal two-pin connectors in prep for wire harness.
I also added PIAA 520's to my Defiant short bar. I picked them up off Ebay for $70.00. Just needed some TLC and six coats of Plastidip (I love that stuff). I also swapped out my aluminum Hawse fairlead for a syntheitc rope roller fairlead. I think it looks better and will help to clear bottom of Defiant bar if I ever need to pull off center.

Does the placement of the lights cause overheating issues by blocking air flow to the radiators ? If not why do manf's use such wide opening's for cooling? How much heat do those lamps kick off, seems like the heat would go straight to the radiators.
Cool set up nonetheless.

Is that the stock rear-trim (rear-hatch "4RUNNER" logo) for the Trail - or did you plasti-dip it? That is EXACTLY what I want for my black '13 SR5
. Black plastic with chrome "4RUNNER / Toyota" logo. My plastic is chrome and my "4RUNNER" logo is hazy chrome. It would be so much easier to buy one already done Thanks

Pulled off all the skid plates to survey the damage done on last weekend's Moab trip. Bent some tabs on the radiator support, middle cross member, highly modified the shapes of my ARB skid plates, and bent a lot of small stuff. Ended up taking about a 6 foot vertical drop on to slick rock that my skid plate couldn't clear - BANG!.:frusty:
