What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Jeremy556, pictures please. I am going to Moab in April and want to know what to expect. What trails did you do, and were did you drop off a 6 foot ledge?

The drop was actually the back of Baby Lion's Back. The normal way down was into a huge frozen puddle (which is about as forgiving as high pressure, reinforced concrete), and I couldn't get back up because of the ice on the slick rock (I was sliding down sideways and backwards). So I reluctantly took the vertical drop off to the left that went into a slope I knew I couldn't clear.

I found out that ARBUSA is completely useless as far as replacement parts. I took the twisted metal to a local fabricator, and picked the pieces back up today, and they are looking much better. Hopefully they will match up well enough to my truck to mount them.

On the radiator support bracket, I bent a mounting piece into a 90 degree angle from being flat, though it looks to be a replaceable piece. The middle cross member now seems to sit about 3/4" higher than the exhaust, which it was about even before, but I have some new stainless washers to make up the difference for the skid plate.

That trip, I think it was Hurrah, Chicken Corners, Long Canyon, Gemeni, Spring Canyon, Hey Joe Canyon, and some of kokopelli. Most of the intermediate trails are impassable from ice and snow, and the easy trails are made interesting from the ice.

Jeremy, that sounds like a nightmare more than fun :/ glad your ok and the damage wasn't worse.

not really.. i lined it with tarp.. it doesnt look like it, but its there.. it was actually damage/mark free.. even folding down one seat as i had a 3rd person with me. and everything was clean as i removed the tarp aside for a handful of pieces that were easy to grab

I'm fortunate that I haven't had to test this theory, but I speculate that a 1/4 cord of firewood is less destructive than two children (and apparently you're not supposed to put them in a utility trailer :shrug: ).

Door handles are a must and on my to do. I hope it doesn't affect the touch system.

For roof Rack, I'll probably go after market.

i'm debating between OME the toytec w bilstein and the toytec ultimate suspension and deciding between AT3's and Duratracs and will prolly put a bull bar up front from westin or something.. later on.. skids and maybe a basket up top.. but i want one with crossbars also so i can mount my ski rack to it

The other day, I ordered a new sub-woofer for the truck. I really didn't need the upgrade; considering the fact that I just got the ones that were in it, but I just wanted it.

The "head unit" in dash is stock. Concealed under the front seat though, is a JL Audio, "HD series 750-1", mono-block, a super high efficiency, 750w, class D amp to drive the subs.

I had the privilege of meeting Greg (1engineer) his lovely wife and daughter for dinner last night. Believe it or not we didnt actually talk too much about are 4runner's. Though I must admit and we discussed this at dinner that it was really neat to have a public forum (t4r.org) where it doesn't matter what age and stage you're at in life, we all can get along and share are similar and passionate interests.
