Installed OEM gloss black door handles today. Drivers-side passenger door child lock doesn't work after re-assembly. The wife was getting antsy (girls night out for her tonight), so I had to abort for now. So, I'll get back to that later. Overall, pretty happy with the results!

Just got our '12 TE w/KDSS about 1.5 weeks ago. Haven't really been able to play much and today my fella and I were able to go out a play on some trails and really get the new kid good and dirty! Sooooo much fun! Have been lurking but finally have something worth posting! Loving this truck!!

Very cool on the black handles. Didn't realize those were available. Can I ask where you got them and what they run? Did you just get them from the dealer?

Thanks! I got them online from Toyota of Dallas. The part #'s are in Sp8ball's door handle install thread. You have to look through and be sure it's gloss black, the verify by email with the parts counter. They're very helpful.

As a matter of fact, that's exactly the one we bought. Mourning our 5.0 a bit but after our day playing in the mud the sting isn't quite so bitter. Did you get a 12 or 13? We looked at the Trail obsessively las year but couldn't find KDSS. Got a 13 Explorer XLT 4WD which is our main people hauler and cozier on the tush for long drives. Bought the Ex in August 12 and just hit 16K. Hopefully the 4R won't see so much highway and more mud and dirt!
Come play in the Ocala National with us some time (when it stops burning, of course! ). That's where those pics were taken, some right by the bombing range. And we are off roading newbs as well, unless you count the hubby's times in humvees in Afghanistan! Just send me a PM if you want to go get your new kid good and filthy!

Was able to head out to death Valley and did Racetrack (which was washboard all the way) and Hunter Mountain and Saline Valley Road (which was a nice off road trek).

Hmmm. I think we just waited them out long enough. They were definitely in the mood to deal the other day. By the time we got it, the dealer OWNED the truck and really, really wanted rid of it!! We really wanted the truck and we are satisfied with the deal and our credit union's numbers as well. I think it really amounted to right time, right place, yada yada yada.

Was finally able to figure out a way to carry my high-lift on the roof rack that doesn't rattle and ordered my Icon Stage 6 and shin-guards...

Now the 4 month wait before it gets installed by Ducmonsta! :juggle:

Changed out my engine air filter with a OEM one. Took about 3 mins to do, has to be the easiest vehicle I have ever owned to change the air filter.
Old one on the left, new one on the right, it wasn't too bad for a year out in the desert.

Left NYC last Friday at 5pm and arrived Saturday afternoon in Orlando, Fl. Drove back yesterday into today. Went from 77* F temps in Orlando, to 6 inches of snow through a blizzard in Virginia, to whipping rain in NYC. Truck handled like a champ.
Kids and gear were comfortable for the 2200+ mile ride. Wife? Not so much.
Used Premium gas on the way down, and Regular on the way back up. I thought I might get better mileage with the Premium, but, not so much!
Wife had business down in Orlando, and we figured we could take the kids out of school for a few days and take them to Disney World. We had a blast, even with the 30* temps on Monday.

Also a guy in a white cargo van went out of his way to give me a "peace sign" on the highway in Florida. I assumed he was a member on here and was driving his work truck when he saw me. I visited the "Spotted Thread" and didn't see anything on there.
