Although I got the Nav/Entune options, I really don't like the factory navigation. Today I "hardwired" my Garmin Nuvi, using a ProClip mount attached to the right upper a/c vent.

Using several of the build threads, I disassembled the dash and took out the head unit, ran USB wire through the a/c vent, behind the dash, up through the pop-out inside the glove box and plugged it into 12v outlet in the glovebox.

Took me a while - I've never taken a dash apart and the wonder of it is that I actually got it back together. Without too many scratches. :nod:

I drove the TE in white-out conditions down some grid roads. Plowed through a bunch of deep drifts, and was grateful to not meet anyone as there really was only one drive track on most of the roads. It was great fun overall. Love my TE! Winter could disappear, though. Those same roads will turn to 12 inch deep and slippery mud in rainy weather, which is also great fun in the 4R.

I feel your pain, I've been on the hunt for a 1911 here in MD and have had similar issues. I'm going out looking again today. Good luck finding your glock!

Had a PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) guy pop out a door ding from the a$$ that parked next to me in the back of the grocery store parking lot. Pretty ugly ding restored to pefect for $50! <-----

Next time I'll be waiting with a shopping cart demolition derby style. Eye for an eye buddy.
