25 mpg!
This past weekend my wife and I moved from Fort Myers, FL to Zionsville(Indianapolis), IN. Trip was just about 960 miles and my new 12 TE 4runner averaged 25.0 MPGs for the trip! My wife was driving the 4runner behind a 26 foot moving truck that I was driving, so that might have increased the MPG's since it was pushing some of the air.

Thanks man! Absolutely love the pearl white color... haven't washed it in 2 months (since taking delivery at the dealer), and it looks decent until you're close enough to see the pollen/dirt. Some of the badging will come off once it warms up a bit more (much easier to remove when it heats up in the hot sun) and maybe I'll dip some of the other chrome away (thinking of trying the smoke dip instead of black).
Still toying with the idea of new 20" tires, new 20/18/17 inch wheels/tires, spacer lifts, suspension lifts.... overwhelming just how much choice there is on these trucks. On the other hand, I just don't want to overdo it.... I am at the point where I just want to enjoy it and not pick up a wrench every other weekend any more.

The color is amazing, I have the same color. I had 4th gen and got spacer kits because I wanted to lift the truck but one offroad trip in Pine Barrens and I got disappointed. So for my 5th gen i'm going full suspension and trying to decide between 17 or 18 inch wheels. Had 20' 275/55/20 on my 4th gen, but sold them, because wants to get more meat on the tire for offroad. I took off some badging and it was actually easier then I though. Harper7 explains how to do it somewhere in his build. I used to live in South Jersey with my parents, but know i'm in NE philly.

Ha that is nice. We got 24.5mpg last year when we drove from Seattle to Eugene, OR and back (only about 550 miles). Saturday I'm driving from Seattle to Petaluma, CA, only covering two states but it's 800 miles. Do the 800 back next Saturday (1600 miles total plus local driving in CA...in a week). Will be interesting if I can get 24.5 again.
It's fun when the miles to empty says 440+, right? :biggrin2:

I have the same grill...get a rattle can of flat black and give whatever shows through a light coat or two. Keep the can behind the grill and spray lightly and you won't even need to tape off.

Drove to Home Depot to pick up one of those Edsal shelving units for our garage. This afternoon: I washed the 4Runner with Optimum No-Rinse. It worked fantastic! Afterward I Clayed, Polished, and Waxed the whole freaking vehicle (still have to do the roof). Took about 5hours in total.

Drove 783 miles from Renton, WA to Napa, CA in just under 12 hours with bathroom and 1 gas stop. Avg 22.9mpg with mountain passes and all (and driving 70-75). Can't complain and the scenery was beautiful. Do the drive back next Friday.
Took a ride to the Outer Cape to scout some fishing spots :fishing:

Pulled up next to another 5th gen 4runner at a red light. Rolled down my window and shouted "Nice 4Runner". The driver looks at me and asks "Whats that?" I said to him "Umm..... your truck!". He says "Oh. Its my sons new Jeep". :faint:
