Damn. Sorry dude, that blows.
Perhaps someone could help me out. I'm assessing the damage this morning and I'm concerned that my hitch receiver is a little out place (it took some impact but does not appear crooked or off center). Could someone please measure or estimate how much free space is between the spare tire and the rear of the hitch receiver? Of course, I still have the factory Dunlop tires so I know that narrows down my list of helpers. I just know through reading the forums that a 285 spare will fit yet my factory spare is almost touching the hitch receiver thus my concern

That's not really a fool proof measurement. Since the spare is hanging from a chain it won't necessarily wind up into the same exact spot every time.
In other words, the measurement you are requesting won't be constant truck-truck. Maybe measure to a frame crossmember?

Which brings up the possibility that what got moved is the spare tire, not the hitch. Getting bumped from behind could cause an other wise snug fitting spare to shift towards the rear a little bit and "stick".
Maybe consider lowering the tire just and inch or so and tightening back up, see if its still in the same spot (too close to the hitch)?

Got my 4th windshield crack filled in today (cracked on the way to work yesterday). 4th one since I bought the truck new in November! Bad luck and lots of road construction on my long drive to work everyday are a recipe for windshield disaster. All 4 happened below 70MPH.
To top it off, the previous crack happened just last week! Got it filled the next day, and then got this other one yesterday. The people at the Safelite by my work know me by name! :happens: A few more and it will be time for a new windshield before my baby celebrates her 1st birthday

I had a crack that I'd waited 8 months to fix (one $50 windshield a year with old insurance). Got it fixed right before Christmas, and got slushed on by a truck two days later and an instant 18" crack. Hazards of driving I-80 in the mountains dozens of days a winter. Went through a windshield a year for a decade in a 1st Gen Explorer, then a Cherokee. Expecting the same with the new 4R.

I have a 6" vertical crack line right where the rearview mirror is. Luckily for my, the mirror covers most of the crack Eventually I will have to replace it. Had my truck for 2 years now..other crack was around a year ago that Safelite filled in.

I didn't do anything to the vehicle itself but I did trim and paint my headlights to get them ready for the projector fitting. It should be done next week hopefully.

Well now that we have some decent LT tires on the wife's 4Runner we decided it was time to take it through "No Man's Land" (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-roading/146279-no-mans-land-high-island-sabine-pass-se-texas.html), just Mrs. C9 and myself!
The big 5th Gen performed extremely well on the beach, scrambling around on the clay close to Sabine Pass end w/ very little effort:
The old suburban was still out there, looks like it has actually risen out of the sand a few inches since the last time I saw it:
Stopped a little before the mid point and snapped a few poser shots:
A decent shot of Mrs. C9 I snapped w/ my camera phone while we were walking around looking for beach glass and shark's teeth:
We saw no one for about 14 miles, then we hit the nudist areas close to High Island- :barf:
There were a few nice looking ladies, but they were in the minority - the juice definitely wasn't worth the squeeze...
We motored on down the beach, headed for the Fantasea Grill in Gilchrist for a burger. A few miles before the grill we came across these young men that were using their truck as a back hoe. They seemed skeptical that the 4Runner would be able to pull their truck out, but their fears were unfounded:

By the time we were done here we were really hungry. I quit fooling around taking pictures and we went and ate. After the burgers I aired the tires up in the Fantasea parking lot and we headed for the house. Ended up sitting on the highway for about 1.5 hours while local Police/EMS worked a 3 car head-on collision on Hwy 124. No word on who what when why or how yet, two medivac helicopters landed and left the scene while we were waiting.
Other than the accident and delay it was a pretty good day!

Last Friday, I bought four 17" wheels from a local guy. They came off his 2011 FJ Cruiser. I'm looking forward to getting these mounted with either BFG Rugged Terrains or Firestone Destination A/Ts... both 265/70/17. (Big thanks to [MENTION=68380]AZrunner11[/MENTION] for his help in answering all kinds of my questions about wheels!!)
Yesterday morning, we took the pups for a hike at a nearby trail. They absolutely love the 4R. Compared to our '98 Cherokee, they've got an amazing amount of room in the back. Ashe (the black greyhound) loves watching where we've been. Maya (the brindle greyhound) is a little bit more relaxed during the trip.

Went camping for my brothers birthday, and I slept in the back of the 4runner. I like this vehicle more every time I use it, we were on the great cacapon river in wv. Party mode works great too, but I need a dual batt setup now...killed my battery at one point and had to jump it.

How'd the mosquito netting over your rear windows work? I've seen that kind of thing at Cabela's, Academy, and others... just never pulled the trigger.

They worked very well, I had one on the sunroof as well. Mine are the skeeter beater brand, and they feel and look like quality materials. This is the first time I used them so time will tell how well they do. I want to get a larger one for the rear window or something to cover the rear hatch while open. It got a little still at times in there, and a little more flow would have been nice. Perhaps a battery fan would work well.

Grand Canyon: Point Sublime
Spent two days at the North Rim and ventured out to Point Sublime. We tried to do it yesterday but the heavy thunderstorms in the area washed out part of the trail. This morning we had much better luck - beautiful trail, beautiful view!

Looks like fun!! I love to camp!! Just came back from Big Sur, that was a blast.
Take it from me, get your battery checked after it died, mine went bad after I ran it clean like you did. Check it out at autozone and have them fully charge it if its low.
