What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Installed upgraded rear strut supports in anticipation of my Gobi rack and ladder delivery. Movement downwards is the same but going up watch out! Ordered from Saskatchewan company $92/pr @ 250# rating, hope that's enough they indicated they could go up to 260# with these. Rack ordered jan 7, hoping it makes it in next two weeks...

Also made some paracord grab handles, thin red line paracord matches pretty good with trail interior. Should come in handy with older folks getting into my lifted trail.

WHA?????? Have a credible source on this? I'm pondering the TRDP Black 17x7"s now, but would much prefer a 17x8" with a bit more offset.

Following up on this:

Mooney - Where did you get this information from? I saw some "Knock-Off" 17x8 TRD-Style wheels on eBay (NOT Toyota/TRD brand), bit have not heard anything about "real" 17x8 TRD branded wheels being available. I'd like to maintain a similar stance to the stock SR5 17" Wheels with the Spidertrax, and I believe a 17x8 might be exactly what I want (depending on offset/BS of course)...

My struts were starting to sag which is a problem when you are 6'3" and getting stuff in and out of the cargo space. These new struts are awesome!

My girlfriend and I took a weekend trip to Austin and stopped by Hidden Falls Adventure Park in Marble Falls on the way.

I have to say for a first timer, the staff and patrons were all really friendly. The guy at Check In gave us a good run down on where to stay and what feeder roads to check out to see some cool trails. Even met a few Toyota's from the Heart of Texas OffRoad Club. Being 2 weeks away from installing my lift I thought it would be fun to see what the stock height and stock Bridgestones could handle. We stuck to the Park Roads, Level 1s, Level 2s, and even tried out the beginning of some 3s just to see how far. The capability of the stock T4R was not a surprise, but the stock Bridgestones were the biggest surprise considering they suck on pavement.

We werent the only Toy out there but were completely outrun by Jeeps and UTVs. Actually, didnt expect to see that many of them....like little gnats buzzing around the trails too fast.

All in all it was a pretty good place with some tight and manageable trails if you didnt want to take risk of messing anything up.

Saw this sweet widebody Tacoma parked at the lodge as we were airing back up and heading out.

Looks like Toytec updated their rear shocks. Are they no longer using Bilstein shocks in the rear? Anyone know if there's a difference in the update?

Yeah if you go to the site right now, the only option is Boss for the rear.

Yeah I noticed. Wonder what is different about them. Now it also includes rear bump stop extensions.

It says more travel to to use the coils to their potential, I wonder if they will offer a replacement discount for everyone who bought the kit pre boss rears

Give them a call .. their staff was pretty friendly when I spoke with them .. I'm sure they'll be willing to work with you for some type of discount.

Doing the entire thing. Just decided it'd be easier to break it up into pieces. Did the trim piece on the door first, now doing the rest. I wanted to be sure and get full coverage on all the trim pieces and the way the door closes I decided it was easier to separate it this way.

Just finished spraying my first coat on the rear and got it too thick and got the runs. Gonna have to peel it off and respray. :ybrick:

And haha, yes it will have the storm trooper look to it. That's why I chose bronze back when I did the wheels so it wouldn't be full out storm trooper.
