What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Doing the entire thing. Just decided it'd be easier to break it up into pieces. Did the trim piece on the door first, now doing the rest. I wanted to be sure and get full coverage on all the trim pieces and the way the door closes I decided it was easier to separate it this way.

Just finished spraying my first coat on the rear and got it too thick and got the runs. Gonna have to peel it off and respray. :ybrick:

And haha, yes it will have the storm trooper look to it. That's why I chose bronze back when I did the wheels so it wouldn't be full out storm trooper.

What are you using? If its a Plasti Dip .. fortunately its pretty forgiving.

It says more travel to to use the coils to their potential, I wonder if they will offer a replacement discount for everyone who bought the kit pre boss rears

Report back if you swap out, i saw those but figured since i didnt do the superflex coils probably wouldnt be much different for me.

I don't have the Boss lift, I was just curious, and sort of nudging [MENTION=78909]alexb[/MENTION] to find out.

I may shoot them an email just to see what's changed. I'm more interested in the rear bump stop extensions. I'll let everyone know if I hear anything from them.

Yes plastidip. It is an interesting product to work with. I've learned you have to peel the tape off ASAP after you spray to get even lines. The front is slightly jagged where it dried too much before peeling. I don't think it's bad enough to go back and redo though. I'm learning as I go.

N-Fab Steps

Not today but Saturday... installed the N-Fab steps. Easier than the Tacoma... the 4Runner had bolts to remove. The Tacoma had paint in the threads and plastic plugs so the threads had to be cleared first. These just bolted right up with the provided hardware.

Lift install

Installed 5100's all the way around today. Set the fronts 2.5" and put some sway a way sprigs in the rear. Got the spidertrax 1.25" spacers in and did a little plastic fender cutting. Went pretty well despite the snow here in TN. Don't worry I know the snow here is a joke. I'm originally from Michigan so any snow the south gets is nothing in comparison.

I am happy with them. Simple, yet effective design and they are reasonably priced. Some of the bracket skids do not fit with the oversized Johnny Joints on the Metal Tech Lower Links. These are specifically designed around the Metal Tech links, so it was an obvious choice.

I think it took about 4 weeks delivered. The extra week was for the powder coating. I have to say I'm really happy with them but the wife says they are really not good for a step to get in.

2015 Magnetic Grey SR5 purchase 1/31

- Swapped my 18x9 Black Level 8 MK6 wheels/285/60/18 tires (Off my FJ) with TPMS sensors from the stock wheels over (thanks to my local Discount Tire)
- Installed Westin Running boards (black)
- Full LED interior swap
- Removed Silver Roof Rack and installed blanks (going to paint the silver rack black when it warms up
- Tint
- TRD CAI off my FJ

- Once i figure out the bulb situation will be installing better bulbs up front.
