This weekend my folks took our daughter so we could run the Hudson Gorge twice. The first day it was 40 degrees and our teeth chattered all morning, but the second day was sunny and the water felt refreshing when it doused us.
Decent rapids, for me anyway. Every single muscle in my arms and back hurts, and a few unexpected ones in my legs from bracing against the bar so hard to get a run right. My husband encourages me to row through stuff I'm pretty intimidated by, but I haven't figured out if that's because he truly believes in my ability OR because he doesn't want to put down his fly rod. On a few occassions I had to tell him to sit down, hold on, and quit casting!
What an awesome weekend.
