Today I hauled the boat for the hour + drive to Sandy Point to fish the Bay for White Perch. Only 25 keepers over 9", but Yum- Dinner!

Anyway, I just figured out how to post to youtube (because I'm an idiot) so here's a video that shows why I love my little Scout so much!

At only 16' and a modified tunnel hull, it will literally float in 10" of water (with the motor up), yet I can safely travel on rough days like this. There were NO other 16' boats out there today- I got some strange looks, lol)!

The "crashes" sound worse on the camera- it was attached to the windscreen, you can see my reflection at times- pretty cool.

I didn't get to open her up until around 10:40-ish in the video, and I don't think I ran wide open....

She's petite fast and mean. I love her.

I had my 2" body lift and BMC done today ... and hit a little snag ...

Now the problem !!!

Small Problem first ... front 2 bolts needs to be 8" inches instead of 9" . Handled it with a spacer. Going to my favorite bolt shop and special order grade 8; 8inch bolts...

Now the big problem...

Toyota Changed steering shafts in 2014 ... so the 2013 body lift spacer doesnt work ... heres the pics of the shaft...

and I'm short from finishing my body lift... BY this much!!!

if anyone out there knows where I can order one of these; state side !!!

I was going to do a body lift this autumn, I'm glad I hadn't done this yet as I knew they changed the front end but this was new to me. Try six states? They do custom drive shafts, only place I know. ..

Yes I know they are supposedly only drive lines. .but I don't know anyone else :-(

Interesting enough when I did my arb front bumper I didn't need to adjust my power steering lines because it's not the same, goods to know that more is changed than "advertised "

Guaranteed you can run a 0.5 with no problem. Or a 1" is take up all the slack on the steering shaft and u joints.

I'm already researching to solve my problem. Tepo fix is added a 1/2 spacer where the steering wheel column mounts on the dash and pull some more slack on the steering shaft.

Solutions might be using longer u joints or buying a steering wheel shaft extension from Snake Racing in Austrilia and wait for it to arrive on the slow boat here...

Which tire carrier are you using ?

Using Tire Gate carrier. Attaches to hitch. Good solution for spare tire if you haven't made the jump to a new rear bumper. You can order shelf for 1 or 2 fuel cans or highlift mount. Heavy duty, very solid.

Crater Lake, OR

Drove up to Crater Lake, OR from Chico, CA to visit family and hike around. From 5 hours of highway driving to light trails and back again. I have to say, I absolutely love this T4R and these KO2s.

We hiked up to The Watchman at Crater Lake, a fire lookout on top of this peak, and the view was AMAZING!

Changed the oil on the 4Runner and Wifey's 2010 Honda Odyssey.

Spent some time under each vehicle, like I always do, checking for leaks or any other issues.

The differences under each vehicle is remarkable with regards to rust.

Honda = NO rust, anywhere. It basically looks brand new.

4Runner = rust everywhere, and I have been brushing rust neutralizer on these spots every summer since 2011 (FML!).

The front skid plate is actually starting to flake apart around some of the holes. I have had a lot of vehicles but have never seen any rust as bad underneath as this one. Honestly, my '69 Mustang looked better (in '87) and that's freakin' pathetic.
