What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

It sure would have been nice to be installing my RCI sliders this weekend...

custom built to be KDSS-compatable, powdercoated by RCI, etc. Finally had them shipped from CO to VA (8) weeks after ordering, then.....

UPS looses the 6' long, 95lb package in the last 50 miles to my address (from bigger hub to local hub). Its under their 'Investigation Claim' process now, which takes up to 10 days and doesn't look good at this point.

Looks like I may have to start back at Square 1 with the whole fab / powdercoat / ship waiting game again. Oh, and after being blatently lied to twice, and then pushed off with 'no further info for you because you are not the shipper', UPS Customer Service can kiss my....

The waiting game for long lead parts can suck, but when the shipping co. does this to you at the very last step, its torture:violin:

I spent the last week camping in the Ouray/Telluride area. A lot of the trails still have some deep drifts but should all be melted before to long. Actually caught the moment the two dozers met near the top of Imogene so I would expect it to be open this weekend. Camped in an area just below tree line off of black bear and saw the dozer headed up Tuesday morning. The conditions should be great for everyone going to the summit this year.

It shows up back at RCI's shop about a week later with no shipping label and with the box looking like it fell out of a plane. Josh packaged it back up, put on a new label and I got it a week later!

We've had very similar problems with both UPS and Fedex. They simply do not care how packages are delivered or if they are delivered at all. I'm pretty certain their "insurance" is a racket as well. They investigate themselves and find that it wasnt their fault.....go figure.

Finished up a mtb ride and my neighbor was rolling up in her "new to her" 2011 LE 4Runner. Her 4th gen was totaled in an accident... She is an awesome lady and as we were catching up said "I really want a roof rack and ladder and other cool things like you have on yours".

It's not mine, but still cool, she is literally in her 60's.

Curious to know what made them custom built over the ones they sell for the KDSS equipped 4Runners? That sucks though. Waiting for parts is hard enough.

Thanks man! There's a metal plate that the bumper cover attaches to, notice white grease pencil mark. Added a 1/4" metal spacer block to raise mount high enough so light bar just fit over bottom edge of black grille. Hope to do a write-up of the installation when time allows.

Iron Range OHV Park

Went up to Gilbert , MN to the Iron Range OHV Park. Was a lot of fun but there were several things that I didn't like about it (more just me b******, then anything actually being wrong with the park). Does not compare to the Moab Trip but was fun nonetheless. I don't have a lot of photos as I was alone but it was definitely the most technical offloading I have done to date. I managed to only use the sliders 1x, skid plates.....lost count but all minor hits, not big dents, and then a tree got close to the rear driver side door and my 4runner decided to say F* off which left a minor dent/scrape.

Ridden hard. Put to bed dirty. You have exceptional windshield wipers. I went to Gilbert when I had my FJ. It was fun but no match for Colorado/Utah/etc. I need to move out there in a couple of years...
