On Saturday we ran a stretch of the Upper Delaware. The river was quiet and we only saw a few boaters. We got skunked except for this little chub, and Katie spent a lot of time looking for crayfish and stonefly nymphs. She's getting to be a pretty accomplished river runner, and she was upset that there were no named rapids on this section. She spotted three eagles in trees before we did and can now tell the difference between juvenile eagles and vultures when they are in flight. Not bad for a 4 year old!! She wanted to camp on a gravel beach, and when I told her we had no overnight gear, she cried. She wants to be outside all the time.

Oh, and we were spotted by [MENTION=78000]zgensler31[/MENTION] in Liberty on our way to the river!

Finally got around to installing my ladder. Simple and straightforward process but the directions were a different story... only an engineer could write an entire page of instructions for something that could be said in 4 sentences haha. Spent more time trying to interpret them than i did actaully putting stuff together. Then I went and got muddy.

Thanks man! The color has really grown on me, I was hesitant to go with it at first but I love it. This was a maintenance trail on Fort Belvoir that I now realize is of questionable legality... just a two track into the woods with no signs or anything but I feel like I got away with one, so I probably won't be back. It was fun though. NOVA sucks when it comes to finding somewhere to off-road nearby.
