It's a Rola I got it free from a buddy because it came slightly bent but worked to hold the luggage on the way out from Wisconsin so I can't complain. It will work til I get my Gobi.

Not today, but in the period of 9 days running through last week I managed put on 2100 miles and roll over 25K in just 1 year, 5 months and 7 days, but who's counting! Thanks to everyone who helped me plan and prep for my trip. We had an amazing time in CO and the 4Runner was a super star. Keep an eye on the build thread for pics and timelapses from the trip!

parking out in the boonies helps a lot
and I mean way out there, to the point the warden requires me to drop her off at the door while I go park and find a bus/taxi/shuttle to the entrance.

I parked in the back of a grocery store parking lot to get to something close to the street. Someone laid a shopping cart on the ground in front of my 4runner and I hit it pulling forward. Even the boonies aren't safe.

I just leave all the dents, scraps and brush scratches and have found people are much more likely to leave your truck alone and want to avoid it all together. Might send the wrong impression that you don't care about the equipment and hurt resale but it does make life simple.

That would be Mineral Creek above highway 550 "on the way" to Engineer Pass. That same side is easy if you're coming up from Animas forks. The Mineral Creek section is the harder part.

Vacationioning in Buena Vista, CO arena right now. Having a great time. 4runner performing as expected. Hiked Belford/Oxford yesterday, weather cooperated so took my time enjoying great views. RT took 9 hours, 14 miles and ~5800ft of elevation gain. Need a couple of days rest before attempting another 14er. Thinking of going to Crested Butte area to explore. How was road condition on Schofield Pass?

The road wasn't bad from Crested Butte, just a little rocky in places. The biggest challenge was the mountain bikers. I went on a Saturday, seemed like hundreds of bikers climbing the pass.
I had my motorcycle on its side in the garage for a couple of days for a five minute fix.
Day 3, the wife ran into it with the 4runner. She tends to pull up to the garage door before opening it, and with that giant hood she couldn't see a 6' motorcycle laying there.
I'm quite tempted to pick up a backup cam, put it in the front bumper, and wire it into the display.

After putting on SCS SR8's my 285's rubbed like a mother. So I did the fender liner mod, removed the front mud flaps, and trimmed a little bit of the front bumper. Rubbing is 95% gone now.
Also discovered that having little tiny holes in plastidip from rock chips plus a pressure washer doesn't fair very well for the plastidip.
