What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

This weekend I hauled some lumber home from the local lumber yard. I'm remodeling our 1913 Craftsman Carriage House. I needed some sistered studs and blocking to flush out the old rough framing before I add plywood sheathing to the ceiling and walls.

I didn't want the Toyota roof rack cross rails because I plan to change the rack to a Gobi or Baja Rack. In the mean time I use a couple of boards across the side rails and tie it down real well.

Will be hauling plywood next, maybe 6 sheets at a time. I'll only bring home what I need for the ceiling or one wall at a time because I don't have anywhere to store it except right in the middle of the Carriage House. hoto:

Not much but the woman got me Weather Tech side wind deflectors and a bug deflector. Next summer I should have enough for a gobi rack and rims.

Had Billy's installed all around with 884 OME up front and SAW in back. Now I'm just praying my alignment comes in spec. Toytec site says 884s would only give 2" lift, guess what... WRONG! I got a full 3", this will probably get ugly with stock UCAs?? Also getting wheels and tires put on today. Black Rock Yuma's and KO2s.

How's the wind deflectors? Did it actually reduce wind noise? The ones I have on my 3rd gen made it louder.

Question::: I have a "Viair 00073 HD Portable Air Compressor" but have never used it on these larger/heavier AT tires. Any insight as to how this would perform filling up 4 tires from 20psi? or worse case filling a flat?

Installed weathertech side window deflectors.

Rear passenger side deflector didn't sit well in the channel. Contacted customer service, new rear replacement set on the way! Excellent customer service.

Very pleased with them. Look great, somewhat low profile but plenty of room to clean under them.

Had to manually raise windows a few times, now auto up function works without issue.

Installed the weathertech deflectors yesterday. Minimal wind noise. Previous experience with the weathertech deflectors was on a Yukon. It had quite a bit of wind noise. Very pleased with them on the 4Runner.

Give this a try at home before you de-air your tires out in the wilds. It needs to perform the task 4 times without overheating. Time the job too. You want to know how long it will take. Viair makes some larger portable compressors for bigger tires and faster fill times.

Watch out for flats. You can't fill a flat on the road if it gets loose on the rim. You'll need to take it to a tire shop for that. I was trying to fix a wheel barrow tubeless tire last week that had gone low and was loose on the rim. I just added a $10 tube to the wheel and it made refilling easy.

Not sure about the 00073 but I'm using the Viair 00088 and it takes 3-5 mins per tire to fill up from 15psi to 40psi. The compressor will get hot so be careful when you go to grab it.
