My pup Legend was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last week. The vets give him 6-12 months at most so we're trying to make his last year the most memorable.

Had BestBuy install a VIPER 5806 alarm and remote starter today. They did a very neat job and didn't use any T-Taps!!!

Gotta say that your post brought me to tears. I had to put our mastiff down at 2.5 due to a congenital birth defect, and I feel for you. I don't have any sage advice other than give that dog all you got and you will have done your part. Those types of problems are mother****ers, but they lend perspective.

Sorry to hear about your Mastiff. They really are on this earth for too short of a time, most of it is spent waiting for us to come home.

Legend is a rescue and I have to say he rescued me. He came into my life after I got out of the military, went through a break up and buried my father. All within 24 months.

So I owe this dog a lot more than I can express in words. I vow to give him my all and also know if he begins suffering it's time to call it and not be selfish.

I've had him almost 10 years and I can tell you even if I could have 20 more with him it wouldn't be enough.

Now you got me tearing up... ugh. Damn ninjas cutting onions.

Made it up to Elk Lake above Detroit, OR today. Not a ton of snow yet but it was fun anyway. The first time off pavement for the new 4Runner, rolled past 500 miles on the odometer too. REALLY surprised at how well it handled off road and the factory Nittos did better than I thought they would. Definitely surpassed my expectations all the way around.

Tackled the Aldrich Mountains in Central Oregon today, on the third try at a third lookout tower we finally made it to one! We also made it down to the Malheur River Crossing which had a 3" layer of ice.[

Found a nearby trail...drove around for a bit... on the way out started sliding into the big puddle I was trying to avoid...decided to commit while I still had momentum...fail!

Had to call a friend with a Hummer H2 for a pull...two seconds after shackles and tow strap attached was out and ready to go.

Two lessons learned...again...1) don't wheel alone 2) It's OK to stop and turn around to find another path

Still had a blast though and friend in the H2 is proud of the mud on his rig now!

Went up to Plumas National Forest for the annual Christmas Tree cutting. Found a nice one and there was a little bit of snow to round out the trip. No picks of the truck in action this time.

Took advantage of the black Friday deals and bought a complete set of bilstein 5100 's and four light duty OME Springs as well form total automotive performance. This may be wishful thinking but I'm hoping they get here by next weekend. My wife is gone all weekend so I have nothing but tinker time for two days.

Buddy and I drove 90 mins west of Seattle for a little late fall salmon fishing. It was icy, foggy, and down right eerie being the only two guys out there in the frigid river.

The water level is so low, that the whole Folsom dam is sticking out like a China Wall

Boat ramps look like kind of stupid investment so far away from any water.

This is actually first time this year I went to visit Folsom Lake State park and I am really shocked.

25 years ago this was a beautiful and full lake with all those ramps available and busy. Kind of sad to see it that low now, I learned to water ski on that lake. It doesn't look like anyone could go water skiing on it now, let alone a whole Air Force refueling squadron!

Yeah I learned to ski out there as well. Fished it all the time too in my dad's fishing boat. Spent my teenager years on the beach. We even camped there several times. It is sad but every time I see it now I just want to go wheeling out there!
