When I'm connected to my phone for Pandora... The navigation will freeze or the music section But most of the time it's the map section..

Well, I got the wheels on and the hid's. Last night a dipped the chrome. My suspensions (front and rear 5100 and springs) are in the trunk. Getting those installed today at 1pm. When I get home, assuming Toyota has the parts, going to ditch the roof rails until I get a rack. Then some led's and seat covers and it's on to the stereo!

You got it, I plan on drilling and tapping the aluminum crossmember like other members have done before.

Got out to Alabama Hills over the weekend for the first official trip (not counting the quick trip I did to Big Sur the day after I picked up the 4Runner). Freezing cold but so worth it to get off the main roads and see what the 4Runner was capable of.

It looks like that could be Mt Whitney in the background. I was out in the White Mountains, east of Big Pine in September. I'll probably get out to the Alabama Hills later this winter. My signature photo below is Patriarch Grove in the White Mountains, at 12,000 feet. That's also closed for winter now.

With 120 closed I just took 50 to 88 to 395, which ended up being a gorgeous drive (though a bit long). We were on the road by 7 AM and got to Alabama Hills by 330, with a few stops along the way to explore. Be ready for extreme cold, it dipped to 20 in the middle of the night. The views were worth it though, especially the morning sunrise. I'll post a photo of that soon.
That was me! I was bummed I didn't go looking for you at Kirk Creek, my friend said the other side of the camp ground was raging. I think we got a little heavy into the cider and whiskey after spending the day at Sand Dollar Beach and weren't moving from our camp site. We should set up another run to Big Sur soon, stake out a claim on Pruitt Ridge.
I didn't get a chance, didn't even know about it. I'll be through the area again around New Years so I will seek it out, I'll need all the warm bread possible to keep warm. And that was indeed, Alabama Hills has incredible views of Mt. Whitney. Have fun and make sure to explore all the side trails! Lots of fun wheeling (though moderate and easy level) and some great dispersed camping. Though extremely cold.

2. Got tired of the antenna whacking against the support beams in my parking garage (normally I drive a different vehicle to work), so I tried to cut about an inch off the tip. A little parking garage brit malah. Whatever steel the OEM antenna is made of is seriously hard stuff. I barely scratched the metal with a pair of side cutters, so I broke out a pair of vise grips. It notched the cutting blade on the vise grips! Gonna have to rethink this...

Awesome! Bucket list for next fall is a trip from the Oregon border on 395 down thru Bishop! I might need to head out on the one you described sooner than that though!
And Pruitt Ridge... Been dreaming of that one for a while, I am planning a beginning/mid-February trip there...

Just go! It's an easy weekend trip, and it completely opens up Big Sur. Before I knew about Pruitt I always thought Big Sur was a place you had to book up six months in advance and plan accordingly.
