What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Toyota, never again. Every visit has lead to something wrong. Not sure if this is Toyota, or just this particular location in Plano, TX. I'm tired of going to this store every other week. I was sure that after I got the unit replaced, I would never go back...but looks like I have to go back and see if they can assist. I'm afraid of how much more damage they would cause trying to replace or fix this trim....SOOOOOO PISSED

Got my faulty (constantly restarted while driving) radio/navigation replaced today. Also got my console scratched up by the technician who did the install. Hope Toyota can make this right.

Installed the Shrockworks sliders I bought from Hearno. It wasn't terribly hard to do since I had a motorcycle jack to get the sliders into position.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Went backcountry skiing in RMNP today and got some fresh tracks. First ones in the parking lot. 4runner did great on the snowy roads in 4H. Prob didn't need to be in 4H with the snow tires.

Ordered a set of ARB skid plates, SR30" Rigid Light Bar, and Bushwacker Flares in prep for project FACE/OFF in January. i.e the Pelfrey front end.

Sadly it means I have to ditch my Pelfrey hidden winch plate, TRD skid plate, and RCI integration plate.

Shrockworks Sliders

Doing a double post as I was slacking from when this happened a few weeks back...

Installed my Shrockworks Sliders after a light snowfall and had to deal with melting snow dripping on me during the install. Besides the Fuel Tank strap being a pain and losing a stick nut into the frame, it went mostly well thanks to all of the advice others have given here. Drilled one hole in the frame and thought I had put bolts where they belong, but still ended up with extra bolts/nuts.

Here I was thinking it was just me...

I almost went as far as to throw my phone out of the window yesterday, but then I got to thinking...It's only started this since updating.

Toyota needs to fix this. Now.

I haven't seen any hanging up on my system, except for the fact that my Bluetooth doesn't seem to connect very easily anymore. I always have to select my phone. I was also thinking this could be from the autostart that I installed. Maybe it's too far (usually a 30ft range) to see it when it turns on, and then doesn't like it when I get in. I don't remember having this many issues with the BT before this update tho.

Hmm. I haven't had too much of an issue with that. The only bluetooth issue i've seen is for example: I'm listening to music from my phone, then I stop some place really fast and leave the vehicle running, but take the phone with me (it gets out of range for bluetooth) then when I return to the vehicle the only way I can get it to see my phone is to turn the system off and back on. This has only happened twice when running back into the house real quick for something.

When I first got my 4R I was really curious why so many people replaced the head unit for the aftermarket ones that have the solid face covers (personally I don't think they look good)

after 3k miles..I'm starting to see why..

Being sick I haven't left the house in 4 days, and so my poor 4Runner sits outside feeling ignored. Today I made it off the couch and to the mailbox, doubt I'll get much further than that for a few more days. While getting the mail, I pet my neglected 4Runner. It cost me a 3 minute coughing fit, but just seeing my truck made me feel a little better.

There are always extra parts... because even though the product is great, they are not so efficient.

Got the rear suspension done yesterday. Removed the Truxxx 1" spacers and added OME springs with Bilstien shocks. It was not to bad of a project. Everything went smoothly. I had to search a couple questions on this forum (break lines and rear shock twisting when trying to remove the top nut). Found my answers quickly and got her done. Still waiting on front shocks to get here Monday. Looking forward to getting them on. The ride is a little stiffer but not to stiff and sits a little higher in rear now. Also have a tiny forward rake now, which I like. the space between the top of my rim and the bottom of the fender is 14.5". I don't remember what it was before. I should have measured it before I did the suspension. Oh well.
