We got about a foot and a half of snow here in SLC so I went tow-boarding behind my 4Runner:

Alright! I got the front bilsteins and OME springs installed so my suspension is complete. Install of the front took about 2.5 hours. I tried using the spring compressor I bought at Harbor Freight but I couldn't get all the hooks onto the springs. They were too fat to fit in between the coils. So I removed both stock coil overs and bright them and the new springs and struts to my friends tire shop. I had them dissemble the stock stuff and assemble the new ones. After I got it all set up I did a little off roading to see how she did and got some mud on her. The new ride feels nice. Now I have to sell the Truxxx spacer kit and stock suspension I had in it.
Edit: I forgot to give a shout out to [MENTION=120150]TotalAutomotiveLV[/MENTION]. I bought all the suspension parts from then just after thanksgiving. Their customer service was fantastic with great communication.

It's 2 years after the original 6yrs if you bought the car brand new. Mine a 2014 soo my first smog test is in 2020. Then after my first initial it's every 2 yrs after that. 6yrs of no smog and me enjoying my y pipe...
Reason for the 6yrs is thats when your catalytic converters fall out of warranty

The enclosure will be made of birch plywood so it will be about half the weight of MDF. It shouldn't be that bad. If it does sag a bit it will give me an excuse to install the air bags that I've had for six months or so.

I'd try to save all the parts so they can be re-bolted back in place to make it smog legal. Just for the test. And I believe you have to alter or reconnect the O2 sensors so your ECU thinks the cat's are still there, IIRC.

No it doesn't pause the warranty period. Lol
You connect the rear O2's there's a 3rd hole that you plug up with one of the supplied bolts. That's for a exhaust temp or wide band; gauge if you want to put one in... the rear O2's only monitors the health of the front cats; not the rear ones... soo there no need for an emulator. So is what's Gadget advertised. I haven't heard of issues with this..
I'll post pics of the install and video ... when I'm done.. going to drive around for the weekend to let the car relearn the mapping. Will have to reset the cars ecu by pulling the battery. And force it to re-learn the mapping with the new y pipe. And then maybe I'll dyno on monday if there's room at the dyno...

I'm not 100% sure on this, but the truck should pass smog with the Y pipe installed. The rear cats do nothing once the vehicle is warmed up. That's why the rear o2s are mounted in front of them.
The vehicle is allowed to run in open loop until operating temperature is met. After that is when all smog testing is done. And the rear cats do nothing once the front catalyst is fully warmed up. The catalyst in the rear cats has a much lower effective temperature range, but once fully warned up they are just a cork in the exhaust.
Technically it is not street legal to remove them, but I seriously doubt a typical smog test could detect it (since they most likely don't do a cold start test). Luckily, I don' live in a CARB state... but it is headed that direction.
Here, on any ODBII vehicle (I think 98 or newer). They just run an ODBII diagnostic test with no sniffer.
In some other counties... they make you put it on a dyno and run up to HWY speed with the sniffer on.... But I have never seen a cold start test.

They will pass your Texas safety inspection. But not our California visual inspection... I might take it to a friend's shop and have him test this out for me. See if it passes the sniffer test. But as for visual inspection if I have skid plates in place maybe I'll be able to get by. But that's only if it passes the sniffer.
Ps where our video bro ??? you promised videos of how the rig sound with the y pipe... I have video of before cuz I posted the vid of the Magnaflow muffler. And Ill post one after...

I'm lazy... I'll get you a video tomorrow if it's not raining... Been busy at work and helping with other peoples rigs....
Do you really think someone would know which vehicles have 1 vs 2 cats...for visual... It's totally mfg specific. But no telling with California...
I'll bet it passes the sniffer without a problem. I've done it a few times on other vehicles where the 2 cat system was replaced with one performance cat.
