Took a quick overnight road trip to lower Oregon in the hopes of seeing some Aurora Borealis from that solar storm. Sadly we didn't see anything but did catch an awesome view of Crater Lake at sunrise and took some small side trips through the forest.

Took the 4runher out to her natural habitat, offroad at barnwell mountain recreation area.

She made friends with the mud, rocks, and ruts, got stuck, and then made friends with a limb that wanted to be more than friends. Limb penetrated driver CV joint at the boot closest to the wheel. Grease transferred to the limb.

Went to autozone and bought a new CV joint.

Should be replaced when the sun comes up. Looks like OEM can be rebuilt.

For the time being beer is easing the pain. And maybe tomorrow I will get a ride in the trail toys tacoma. So this weekend isn't all a waste.

Awesome photos man, I will be heading into Bend at the end of January. Your photos have now convinced me that I have another stop to make on the way up. Just saw Crater Lake in September, but winter looks incredible. I saw you driving out of San Jose last week, HA!

Well, yesterday...

I installed the [MENTION=12905]XenonDepot[/MENTION] low beam H11 HID kit. What an amazing difference. THIS is how Toyota should have sent the 4Runner off of the lot. If you want more information, I have done a full write up on my build page.

Sucks that something broke but all part of the adventure and better story than just driving the rig to the grocery store and getting hit by an errant shopping cart.

New CBI Bumper Test

Got the CBI bumper that was installed on Wednesday out in the Desert today. worked great, but I was surprised that there was no kit for light for license plate. Guess I'll have to order separately...

It should include the light kit, email Nathan at CBI. I love my bumper but it was missing the latch mechanism when they shipped it.

Put some new Kumho AT51 P265/70-17s on my truck. I'm hoping these will be a good all season tire.

Installed some Rigid Fogs and my SSS Slimeline bumper with a Warn Zeon 8-s. Other than fighting the weight of the bumper and winch it is a rather easy install as long as you have at least 2 people.

I went with SAE. I already get hammered by Denver for no front plate so no need to pile on. They are insanely bright and a really good deal if you go through Total Auto Perf(TAP).
