What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Went exploring in the mountains, so many random trails! The only concern is the crazy landowners with shotguns if you pick the wrong trail...

How much did it lift the 4Runner and how does it ride?

No idea. Didn't measure...forgot to. I'd say at the moment, it's pretty close to 1.5", as advertised. The front end feels a bit more firm. Still a 4Runner, and there is still a touch on front end diving, but it is minimized. I wasn't expecting it to drive like its on rails, and didn't want that. Just wanted a little stiffer for highway driving and that's what I got. Happy with the results given the minimal investment. Now just debating what to do in the back.

Took the family up to Homewood CA for a little fun in the snow for the weekend. The Cabin was right off the Tahoe Lake. Crazy but we had the whole beach to ourselves! Tried to teach the girls how to skip rocks. But that did not go well with their gloves on. Did a little snowboarding as well. I really love taking the 4runner to the snow. The front runner rack did great with all the sleds and boards on top, plus the box that carried some basic recovery gear.

It was from costco. It is a sled that you sit on like a snow mobile. Kids love it because it can be steered as they sled down the hill. Kinda awkward to pack up but it does fit in my ski rack holder with my snowboard.

I also painted the shift pattern on my transfer knob.

Took a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Truck looks great! What are your 5100s set to? Looks like you went 1.75" in the front with a spacer in the back.

I installed Sylvania LED rear turn signals today. They are a silver body, thus eliminating the amber reflection in the taillight housing, and flash red. Install was a cinch and I also wired in the Sylvania resistors to eliminate the hyper-flash. Fronts are next, using the same bulb, but it will flash amber.

I'm gonna take you up on that, 45 miles ain't nothing. We roll that distance to the Laurel Highlands to go mountain exploring a couple times a month. After a string of bouncy, rough Jeeps, the capability and the comfort of the 4runner has me wanting to be hitting trails every free minute I get.

I also painted the shift pattern on my transfer knob. Actually "painted" is a misnomer, I dipped it in the paint and wiped the excess off; the enamel remains in the grooves.

Fixed my CB. My original CB installation used a 12" mic extension cable, which (i'm 99% sure) was causing squealing during transmissions, probably due to a short in the wiring. Removing it stopped the squealing, but then I had to figure out a way to use the CB in it's existing concealed mount capacity without having to open the console every time to access the mic. I ended up getting an Astatic 636L mic, which has a longer cord than the factory Uniden mic (71" of stretch v. probably 36" stretch), and the cord is also much more "flexible", and stretches easily in any temperature. I routed it through the existing holes already drilled for the now-deleted mic extension, and secured it internally to the console wall. The cord does not contact the inside of the console lid when it is closed.

So far so good, seems to have solved the problem and the mic is easier to use. The mic is definitely good quality, has a real nice feel to it. $22 on E-Bay... or $65 at the local radio shop!
