Was approached in Best Buy parking lot and complemented on the ride by a Jay or Jason?? I think that's his name lol (faded).
Asked me how long I had to wait for mine to arrive, and how the hell I got Classic Silver (with a sunroof)
Turns out the dealer told him 6-8 months for a TRDP with C.Silver not being an option, so he just bought a Silver SR5P 4x4.
I told him that's what I bought, and proceeded to explain how I added all the Pro gear myself, then pointed him to the forum. His new Runner was currently in a local off-road shop getting some work done, and boi did they ever give him a badass built-out FJ as a loaner!! Can't remember the shop name for the life of me and didn't take a pic.. I know, I know.
Genuinely good guy; Hopefully we'll hear from him soon..

Got my HIDs installed.
A little late on this since [MENTION=125487]RaisedByWolves[/MENTION] already posted it, but last weekend I swapped my SR5 front end for a Limited with the most invaluable help of [MENTION=64685]TOY2G[/MENTION] for his knowledge and shop space.
It was definitely much harder and more work than we anticipated. But I love the new front end, especially since [MENTION=125487]RaisedByWolves[/MENTION] had already blacked out all of the chrome. It fits perfectly with mine not having any other chrome on it.
I will get a picture of my kit that has the small ratcheting screw driver on it because it did come in handy. Even a stuby Philips would have been a pain to use in the tight space.

Glad it worked out for you guys, especially you guys finding a donor in the same color and locally. Definitely easier swapping out then buying. Did you guys swap out the sides and rear as well?

Tire alternative for all season
I own a 2011 4Runner SR5. The OEM tires are Dunlop AT20 Grandtrek. Is there an alternative all season tire that is more economical and meet the OEM's performance?

[MENTION=125487]RaisedByWolves[/MENTION] had actually cut his sideskirts already or we would have.
The rear was not swapped for a number of reasons. First being a lack of time since we hadn't planned on the fronts taking so long. But the second came up when we realized the Limited model loses the proximity sensors when swapped since mine didn't come with them and he still used the rear ones regularly. Front sensors weren't as big a deal for him though.

It starts with my comment -- 4Runners are not for mileage, they are for off-road.

Installed 285s
Installed my 285s today. No lift in the truck other than the stock amount of lift provided by the TRD Pro suspension. After a couple of hundred miles, the ride does not feel noticeably more harsh than the Terra Grapplers that came off of the truck and there doesn't seem to be an appreciable loss of power really. MPG hit is yet to be determined. I just put in a full tank and will run a couple tanks through it before making a "final" determination about how much of a hit there is. As for rubbing, the ONLY rubbing that I am getting is at full left or right lock while backing up, and it is absolutely minimal at that.
I think it looks pretty good!

Today's mod
For today, I did Antman's 5th gen independent fog mod.
He really does a nice write up. Easy to follow and accurate.
I also had a set of PIAA yellow bulbs so those went in too.
Getting closer to a lift project as I sold some leftover parts to my now gone F150.

Got the rack installed, which was a fairly simple install and then had a 50" curved light bar I got as a gift didn't think I'd be able to use it. But a friend and I made some brackets out of sheet metal that worked great. My brother is going to have a friend at his work C&C some solid ones outta bullet aluminum, so these will work until then.
Wind noise with the rack was barely noticeable (had to have the radio off to hear it and my friend said the problems solved when I throw some real off-road tires on LOL), with the light bar there is a whistle under 20mph and a little more wind noise above 55mph.
