Discovered this cool hidden compartment right behind the rear seat. Because of the Weathertech cargo mat, I never noticed the small pull tabs before. Looks like previous owner didn't either.
Do all 5th Gen 4R's have this storage?

I've got a 2015 and couldn't find it. I went from being excited to kinda bummed real quick like..[emoji15]2010 TE. Do later years not have this?

No it's only a feature for runners that came with the slide out tray.
TE's don't offer the third row.
Do the new ones still have it? I haven't seen pics of the cubby recently.
That's what I get for guessing...
I have one, but it requires unbolting a couple of tie downs and has about enough room to store a small snake.

Mine isn't a 3rd row. It's a '10 Trail with 2 rows of seats.
Edit: Missed The Waco Kid's reply. Mine does have the slide out tray... which I really like, by the way. :thumb:

Plasti Dipped my roof rack end caps black. For those who want to take off the caps and dip them, instead of taping up the 4Runner and cleaning off excess spray. Their are two clips on each side of the cap. Roughly one inch away from the ends. Gently pry with a plastic trim tool (Do not use a screwdriver) until clips pop out. Some clips may pop up just by using hand strength. Then remove roof rack end caps.

Otherwise,
Short Answer: Depends on what precise tire you're talking about. A 10" wheel is quite wide for a 33" tire.
Longer Answer: Are you looking at a 285-55R-20? Probably a little, but maybe not. Most likely you'll have to modify/trim/move wheel well plastic.

Thinking about putting some 2.25" C channel along the sides of my tray, then laying 2x4/angle iron across to make a platform that the tray can slide out under. I have a large tough box that stores all my usual gear, and I thought tray might come out below it and extend cargo space instead of having the catch all gap. Thoughts?
