What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Exactly two months after putting down my deposit, I picked up my new 4Runner yesterday! This is my first Toyota, coming from 14 years in Subarus.

Toyota and Subaru are like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. IMO both target the consumers that love"to go places". My wife and I are looking to purchase an Outback to compliment the 4runner for local day trips where as the t4r would be dedicated as the family wagon.

Yep, we just did it in the opposite order,, wanted something bigger for our growing family to compliment the Subaru Outback.

Finished installing new rear shocks and springs. Thanks for the advice [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION]. You were here in spirit [MENTION=90379]RockyMtnHigh[/MENTION] Took it for a quick ride, much better, when I pulled the leaking bilstein shock off it was toast so not a day too soon! I have almost 2" of rake back with no weight (not even a spare but of course the armor is there). Should allow me to load up again without the reverse rake I was getting with just a moderate load.

Feeling good about the shock and spring install (see above) and the wife and kids out of the house... Got out my new dremel and finished off the switch install to the Spod. Now have six active switches (goodbye party mode, gone but not forgotten) off the Spod! Celebrated with a Balast Point Dorado, got a free pint glass with sixer purchase. Now that's handling a rainy Saturday!!!

Shed some weight by removing the way too pretty exhaust tip. HP to Weight ratio should jump way up with this one mod almost as effective as putting on high downforce, low drag stickers.

To the dumpster it goes...sad to think I paid for this.

Got some wheeling in for a few hours. The mud definitely made it slippery. A few moments definitely made my butt pucker.

Pinstripes are good, pinstripes are reliable. - Boris the Blade...errrr...whatever.

I passed my HAM technician test today. Not sure I'll be doing a Mobile unit, but for sure a handheld unit in the 4Runner.

Yeah! That rebel stripped off his front plate!

I didnt have cell service. The Jeep didnt really pull me out, but the driver was a huge help and super cool guy. He got me turned around and I used his Jeep as a winch point to get the rest of the way out. I will never go wheeling in snow again, especially by myself....stupid.

Red on the skid plate looks great! If I ever get around to upgrading my plate, I think that's what color I'll paint it.
