Realized one of the OEM rack screws on my '13 Trail is missing so had to ziptie the cross bars with the rack for now.... think the automatic car wash must've loosened it enough to pull it out last weekend. Gave it a much needed wash then decided it had been to long since I got some real dirt on the tires. Dad bought 80 acres for a new hunting ranch a few weeks ago so I took the opportunity to do some exploring this afternoon.

I know that Oklahoma Red Dirt! That's my home state. Lived in Norman for a few years, but down south in Texoma Land is where my acreage is...hope to get back this fall.

I dig the look of your 4R. Rack and ladder and flares. I'm thinking about doing my flares. What method did you go with?

Nothing like red dirt, it gets everywhere! I just used plasti dip for the flares 4-5 coats. I outlined it a little more in detail in my build thread. It's been about 1.5 years and it's held up pretty well. Have some chips and peeling in a few spots and they are starting to fade a bit. Trying to decide to spray a fresh coat over them or peel it off and run with it white again for a while. Was about to peel it over yesterday when washing it, but once it's cleaned up and covered in ArmorAll it still looks pretty dang good.

Thanks for the info. A year and a half...pretty good for plasti-dip. Based on what I've read/heard, I'm leaning toward vinyl application if I decide to do it.

Took it out to Stampede Pass over by Snoqualmie. Drove through trail after trail of overgrown bushes. Sound like nails on a chalk board the entire drive.

Gonna have to take out the polisher today to get rid of the pin striping. Starts from the corner of the headlights all to the way down to the taillights.

Wow Detroit looks low! Have you taken the back way from Detroit to Green Peter? Quartzville has some great scenic (and challenging) trails.
