Speaking of mall crawling... A few years ago we were leaving the mall after my son's birthday party and saw a guy in a Grand Cherokee that was high centered on an ice/snow pile built up from the parking lot plowing. There was another guy in a Suburban trying to "recover" with the webbing from a light duty ratchet strap. They kept snapping that and splicing it with knots. 
Unfortunately it was before I got into off-roading so we just got to spectate and cheer.

On Monday Cris and I drove up to Julian, in the mountains east of San Diego, and spent the night in
the historic Julian Hotel. This is something we've always talked about doing "someday" but due to
Cris' health issues we never got around to it until now. The hotel was built in 1897 and is still furnished
and maintained in period condition, with just the necessary modern stuff.

Not today, but last weekend we rented a cabin in Greer, AZ and searched for an X-Mas tree.
Changed the three year old batteries in my key fobs.
The CR2016 is only supposed to last 1-2 years according to the manual.
Fob responsiveness was behaving oddly yesterday: all button presses locking and unlocking only the passenger doors. Driver had to be done manually.
Automatically corrected after replacing.

My TE stayed in the shop this morning, but had some fun with an R/C Truck in the driveway. Need to get a 4Runner body for it. Don't know if a T4 can do a cyclone, afraid to try.

Out and about today, so we rode out to the LSU Lakes to see the annual migration of American White Pelicans after leaving colder climates in Canada and the Rocky Mountains.
The pelicans can weight as much as 30 pounds with a nine-foot wingspan.

After a few hours of adjusting the damn piston I gave up on it and left it as assisting in opening but doesn't stay up on its own. Storage box is done for now. Paint / trim to be added. But will be putting it in after a snack break. Looks a bit rough for now.
