What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Since doing a lot of Baja, Mexico and Mojave desert runs, I found the value of a rear facing amber dust light.

With no roof rack to attach one to, and wanting it to be up high, I found a simple $40 Pro Strobe amber that can plug in to the rear 12v socket. If left on, it will be illuminated when the vehicle is running.

It simply suction cups to the rear window. Simple solution. We'll see how well it works!

(Other than that I've been digging out of 3' of snow!)

Not going to lie the footage is beyond impressive, does it have an auto follow feature? I was looking at something half that budget but I might have to reconsider!

I have a few of the DJI products. If you want something a little less expensive than the mavic and still feature rich I'd look into the Phantom 3 Advanced or Professional. They're heavily discounted right now since the 4/4 Pro and Mavic are out. Great aircraft and very capable.

From my understanding it's closed for good. The last time I went down there to explore the old cement building foundation that was buried under the sand was exposed. Supposedly that was like 15' deep. Erosion is getting real bad. Maybe 25-30' of beach before the dunes on high tide. The surf at demo is great as long as you get out past the sandbar on the west side of the Jetty. I've seen some good overhead days over there. Also try RM Field 3, Great surf there as well.

Yea that's where I've been surfing... Just miss Gilgo and Hemlock Cove. Not having them makes the other spots very crowded

I've never heard of that before. What is the purpose?

A rear facing amber light is required for many desert and off road races, with the purpose being that traffic coming up behind a truck in dusty conditions will be able to see the amber light through the heavy dust.

I was really impressed when following vehicles with these installed how much easier it was to locate the trucks.

Gave the KDSS a stretch this morning, going down a fireroad (7N02) that's soon becoming a single track. Multiple sections of off camber, somewhat washed-out shelf road, and overgrowth to drive through. Will be getting all-terrains once these tires wear out, thinking of going with the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. Anyone have any experience with them?

Let me get them in and I will. I hate to say something is great without testing. I was going put them in tonight but we are car shopping for the wife
