I love the aluminum bumper, but they totally failed in the locking latch department, I can't believe they didn't use a toggle latch like everyone else instead of pins.

(Well, not today but last weekend...)

Went down to southern CA. It was a little early for big fields of poppies but I found a few.

Crashed out in the desert, solo, dirtbag style.

Next day I took a class with Badland Adventures. This shot was from the beginning and is probably rated about a 2-3. Last obstacle of the day was a 5, a gnarly 3 foot drop over a ledge that required a lot of rockstacking and a really good spotter. Wish I had photos of that but was too in the moment to remember my phone.

Returned to the 4runner crew

Sadly I sold my previous 3rd gen 4runner a while back and bought a truck. Well after driving the truck for about a year I realized how much I missed my old 4runner. So I have been looking for a while and finally found a 5th gen! So excited to be apart of the 4runner crew once again.:girl:

Sorry, I have to disagree. The swing arm is captured rather than just sitting on a post like every other bumper. The pins only keep the swing arms locked from swinging outward as the swing arms are sitting on pads as well which prevent vertical travel. Also, the fact that the arms are shorter keeps them more rigid so there is Zero galloping girdy effect that other bumpers running toggle latches seem to have problems with. So why complicate it with a toggle latch when a simple pin is less prone to failure?
