I was sitting in traffic trying to get away from the bridge fire under Interstate 85 in Atlanta last night. I was in a store directly adjacent to the area where the fire started. I wish I had take pics of my Runner surrounded by the smoke (it would have been a cool pic) but I was trying to hightail out of there to avoid the possibility of danger and the traffic delays.

Mounted the ridge grappler 265/70r17 and installed the toytec 2"/2"w/HD 2.0 in the rear.

I decided to stay with stock size tires due to the 7" trd pro rims. Next tire change will see new wheels and 285's but I'm happy with the look of the stock size with the lift.

The truck rides so much better with the HD springs supporting the weight of the SSO bumper.

I have never loved a vehicle as much as this one.

Well This just made up my mind. Was contemplating on what size tire to step up to. Now I'm probably not going to step up at all. Your rig looks very nice. And I agree completely with loving these trucks. Only other thing I've been as comfortable and confident in was my 2006 Tacoma.

The bridge collapse is extremely close to Sweetwater. I would say less than a 1/4 of a mile north of that. The collapse and consequence closure of 85 is going to impact the city not only with dreadful, gridlock traffic but it will have serious economic consequences as well.

Recent FrontRunner Installs?

Hi everyone,

I haven't met the requirements to start a new thread, so I figured this was the most appropriate place to ask my questions. I've searched for info on roof racks, but haven't found the answers in looking for.

I'm currently debating the following 3 racks:
1. FrontRunner Full Length Rack
My Pros: Modularity (I love the FRO accessories), combo deal with Tepui Tents, and ability to get Rack installed by FrontRunner since I have family near their store.
My Cons: Drilling for front supports, and having to remove the headliner.

2. EEZI-AWN K9
My Pros: No drill for install.
My Cons: I like the FRO accessories more than EEZI-AWN.

3. Gobi Stealth
My Pros: Looks awesome, and since I'll only be using the rack for what it's made for about 3-4 times per year - might as well get something I feel is aesthetically pleasing.
Cons: Limited accessories/not as functional, steel versus aluminum (rust), heavier. Price is outrageous for a piece of metal. In spite of what I consider to be Cons, I'm actually leaning towards this option because I love the way this thing looks on the 4Runner.

Has anyone recently gone through the same decision? What did you end up going with and why? If you went with the FRO, did you have to pull down the headliner for the install?

What I plan on using the rack for during trips: RTT, Awning, fuel, water, couple of boxes (Wolf Pack, Alu-Box, etc.), MaxTrax.
Rack use on weekends: Awning, Max Trax.

recently got around to installing my twin ARB compressor, bandimount, and viair air tank. Still havent wired it up... but its coming when i can get some help from the wiring gurus in the crowd (@rigtec [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] others?)

WIRING HELP NEEDED: I am trying to wire up my compressor switch harness to an NSA trail toys box INSTEAD of the ARB compressor switch that was provided. See wiring diagram. Need to determine what input to send to the appropriate wire, NSA box is capable of sending 3 types of signals to an accessory: Toggle, Momentary, and Latched. And based on the diagram and and ARB switch wiring diagram I think i need to use the red wire which should be to the "compressor solenoid". But what signal should I send it and or have I selected the wrong wire? please PM me about this though so as not to cloud up this thread. TIA.

Picture is halfway through the install, sorry, by the time projects are completed its time to put things up, not take pics. Though I wanted to note some things in this post and in this pic:
1. Only two bolts are required and they go into the passenger fender wall, they are size M6-1.0. I used countersunk ones from the hardware store since i believe i misplaced the fasteners [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION] sent me initially.
2. Only two nuts are required to fasten the bandimount feet to the fender, they are size M8-1.25. I was missing one of these bolts, the joys of owning a used car :tongue1:. So i bought some nyloc nuts in this size and reused the one i tool off earlier.
3. [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION] recommends this order of operations to install the compressor and mount when installing the 1gal air tank too:

I would recommend the below sequence...
0. Remove Air-box...
1. Connect front and rear leg to top plate...
2. Connect compressor to the top plate...
3. Install compressor/mount into truck...
4. Insert tank and mount to front leg...
5. Reinstall air-box...

I did it a little bit differently to streamline the process to do as much as i possibly could off critical path:

0. Connect front and rear leg to top plate
1. Connect Air Compressor to top plate (with all 4 bolts provided with the ARB compressor kit)
2. Remove Airbox
3. Install Compressor/mount into truck (with all wires connected to the back of the compressor because access is extremely tight after you fasten the compressor into place)
4. Insert tank (with all necessary fittings/plugs/hoses INSTALLED) and mount to front leg with provided fasteners
5. Tighten everything down
6. Reinstall Airbox

Big shoutout to [MENTION=125603]bandi[/MENTION] for making such an awesome piece of equipment. This thing is SOLID! and it is purpose built and simple too. Also his customer service is second to none. dont hesitate to buy a bandimount to make your compressor install clean and solid. :hug:

I believe Rhino Rack is also introducing a 5th gen specific solution, but it's very similar to the FrontRunner IMO and I'd just go with FRO in that case due to accessory availability.
