What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

i attempted to install the 12v jumper from the 4th dash fuse to the P/Outlet fues using the two add a circuit pieces spliced together.

instead of the 12v being always on, my radio comes on and the 12v doesnt work.

i must be doing something very wrong. can anyone think of any reason this wouldnt work as advertised?

I love my 1Up rack. What's the purpose of the little attachments that make contact with the tires? Never seen 'em before.

thats exactly it, just more contact surface for the tires. these are 38mm but def with the skinnier tires it would help. plus, i hate when my tires are too pressed in. i got them on their site, i think it was $12 each.

Mmm like the idea, but I have a dumb question. Would the liner would hold humidity instead? I once had nerf bar that were covered with Bedliner to discover later that they rusted inside LIKE CRAZY.



Do not get me wrong, I am not challenging the idea! I am just wondering if its well known that bed liner protect from rust. If its the case, awesome job!

Not at all. It keeps out moisture if you do it right. It's the prep work that makes all the difference

I wasn't aware that 4runners had an issue with rotting from the inside out. Never had a vehicle with that issue, even after years and years of ownership.

Vermont uses so much salt on the roads it gets everywhere. And it lasts for 5-6 months... Even with the weathertech mats, it seeps in and builds up under the carpets. I love my truck and don't plan on getting rid of it. I'm all about preventative maintenance.

Not too sure. I didn't ask the service advisor. I'll ask them if I can keep it after they replace it. I wouldn't mind finding a spare driver side and doing a retrofit HID

Gave her a nice cleaning and had my first experience with clay barring, worked really well and made the paint silky smooth, even just the clay brought out a deep shine In the paint. Still have lots of swirls and scratches I want to try getting out. Yeah yeah pavement princess yada yada.

Installed a few things while I had some time, finished up the anytime backup camera(this thing is great) hooked up to aob switch , still need to wire in the switch pro, wire up arb compressor, and finish up alarm.. Lol what a mess the car looks inside.

No they will not let you keep the defective/replaced part. All parts replaced under warranty have to be returned to the parts department by the technician because they are subject to recall by the manufacture for inspection if they are requested.

Led lights!!

Do everybody a favor and take them out. Unles I'm mistaken you don't have projector retrofit in your truck. I can see from this picture how the driver side light is blinding oncoming traffic.

LED bulbs are not for low beam reflector type housing . If you want LED put it in High beam - they will suck for light pattern but only you will suffer from that. If you want LED in low beam you need to upgrade to projector first.

This "cool LED light syndrome" unfortunately is quite popular here. Every day I see at least few old trucks (often lifted) with LED bulbs in original reflector housing. I stopped flashing them long time ago. They will not understand anyway.

Cool mods. Did you find an LED strip that fit the scoop opening or did you fabricate the strip yourself?

A little bit of both. At first I just eye balled the length of the inside scoop area and estimated no more than a foot. So I went online and found this Red Plasma Glow light that was 8in long and bought it off amazon.

Come to find out the length of the scoop is like 17"!

The scanning motion was perfect from the circuit board, so we just unsoldered the LEDs off the board. Got different LEDs from Fry's Electronics, some small circuit board to cut in to small squares, and brought the black interior part of the hood scoop to eplastics for them to cut me 2 pieces of tinted acrylic.

Soldered the LEDs to the small circuit board we cut up, drill holes through the first piece of acrylic for each LED and mount, and put the second acrylic on top to seal. Then we sealed it all the way around.

It was actually more work than I was thinking it was going to be initially but I think it turned out well.

I'll post a video at some point with some knight rider music, thats what most people want anyway.
