What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Spent some good QT with her in the garage the past couple days dealing with unhydroing the hydrolocked engine. POs plastic oil filterhousing was shot and torqued on so hard the teeth broke when trying to unscrew it. That caused a small crack that leaked oil when under pressure. Sourced the ONLY replacement in Syracuse and it happened to be aluminum. Lady Luck smiled for once.
Replaced all plugs, air filter and oil. Running better, but still not perfect. Check engine is still on and code says misfire and mass air flow sensor. Cleaned intake out well and tried to dry out engine. Need to tear it down again and let it sit open for a while. Also blow out with air hose.
Thinking I will test the ignition coils too. I don't think I'm firing on all cylinders, and my truck may not be either lol.

Upgraded the shift knobs with [MENTION=139559]Ellis Precision[/MENTION] ones from the group buy. These are premium as compared to the "premium" plastic and a touch of leather factory knobs.

Pressure washed the frame inside and out. Some mud came down frame drain holes. Planning to fluid film the frame this weekend. It won't be as easy as my 95 Tacoma - the under 4Runner is much more crowded with all the stuff it has there. My running boards do not help either.

372.6 miles on 2nd tank

I got 372.6 miles on my second tank of gas, 21.235 gallons; that's 17.55 MPG. I'm likin' the bigger gas tank on the Gen5 over the Gen3. 21.235 gallons is still short of the specs for the 2016 4Runner Fuel Capacity: 23.0 gal.

My 1999 Gen3 had a history of being about 2 gal. short of the specified fuel capacity.

1) Plastidip a rear trail valance 4 coats black, 2 coats glossifier
2) Pull rear bumper
3) Cut out the oulined slots
4) Attach the valance w/ clips
5) Re-installed the rear bumper
