Installed Total Chaos UCA over the weekend and went in to get an alignment with my trusty mechanic. Was able to get 5 degrees of caster and even toe and camber. Steering feels heavier and tighter (which I prefer) and the ride is feels much better. It did push the front wheels forward more due to caster and I had to trim my bumper and push the fender liner forward more.
What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Busy week last week and this week! My buddy installed my whole suspension setup in his driveway between last week and this week. We managed to adjust the King Coilovers in front with the help of the T-Handle Punch that King sells for about $35. When we were installing the new UCA, we took the stock UCA off, had the Kings bolted in at the bottom of the shock mount where it bolts up to the LCA, and before putting the top of the coilover in the top bucket, we cranked the coilers up 7 full turns. Without any threads showing, King claims that the coilovers give the 4Runner about 1.5" of lift, so with 5 full turns King says it increases the ride height by 1" or so. So overall, I have about a little over 2.5" of lift in front if what Kings measurements say is true. Hope this helps anyone out that is wondering. Got it aligned today so now everything is all smooth sailing!

Finally picked up a GM crimping tool for weatherpack connectors - what a difference the correct tool for the job makes! Got my driving lights hooked up and aimed.
Also, UPS brought "Frosty" the wheels I've been waiting for (Hutchinson Rockmonsters). Hoping the local shop will mount & balance since they're DOT approved. If not - off to 4Wheel Parts next time I head to Tahoe.

Purchased shocks from Summit Racing. Probably could've gotten them a little cheaper elsewhere, but I've always been pleased with their service, shipping speed, etc. . .
Estimate for having all four shocks installed was over a tad over $300, but the price on tires was better than anywhere else local. . .

I have to add one thing to this. If you don't have experience working with coilovers, don't mess with them. The springs are under extreme load. If you disassemble them incorrectly, you can literally kill yourself. The only right way to do it is with a wall mount spring compressor. Yes, there are other methods, none of them are the best idea.

I pull my coilovers, go buy a 12 pack of nasty bud lite(that's what they like) take it to the mechanics down the street, and they let me / help me use their bench coil compressor, a win, win for all!

Now that baby #3 arrived, baby #1 (six year old) sits in the 3rd row in a booster seat. He was starting to complain about the heat back there. Can't say that I blame him. On a warm SoCal day it's as if the rear of the 4Runner is in a whole other climate zip code. To try and make him happy I installed an electric fan on the left quarter glass using the supplied suction cup. The fan came with an adjustable speed controller which I mounted just below the power outlets on the right side where he is seated. The controller is accessible to him while he's seated and to me and the wife when the lift gate is opened.

Tried to get playlists working on a USB drive in Entune, ..., again.
All work completed. . .
Drove it about 100 miles last night. Serious improvement. The rake is almost eliminated at the .85" setting and the front-end dive when braking is gone. 5100s really firmed things up.
Went with the P-series Defender LTXs in the stock size. Impressed with the ride and drive. At 90K it is better than it was when we bought it at 60K. Interestingly (and possibly unrelated), the average mpg jumped quite at bit on the display.
We'll put around 500 miles on her this weekend (mostly interstate and country roads) loaded for an overnight trip. Looking forward to a smoother ride.
