I lacquer coated my overlay kit to give the letters a bit of a shine.

Look at RSG sliders. They make a flat slider with a kick-out which works great as a step. Plus [MENTION=152854]JasonRSG[/MENTION] is great to work with.

Took a fishing trip down to Kasilof, Alaska for some Salmon Dipnetting. If you're not familiar with it, It's a subsistence fishing we have for Alaska residents. We stand in the water at the mouth of the river with 5 ft diameter nets and wait for Salmon to run into them:hungry:

You just pull up on it. It has these 'fingers' that snap in. When you replace it the tips will bend if not aligned with slots. Just reach under and get them started in the right spot. Then press down. Give it a tap and it's back in place.
Now the bottom of that piece has a square box like 'foot' so it would not cave in under pressure. But I had to cut that off with a rotary tool and cutter disc. Very easy. Also the cloth part has two screws and 5 or 6 clips that hold it to the base. I took that off to make the cut. Then just snapped it back together.
It just pops apart pretty much like a lot of the other parts. You see a the top of that picture is a rectangle of gray foam. Look just above it. You see that slot. Now look to the left of the bottom edge of gray foam. You see that 'finger'. It fits in that slot and you can see, it one I bent once. It's deformed but would be tough to break. It still works fine. To the left of that bent one is another finger and it fits a slot off to the top right that can't be seen. Two more on the other end. One is barely in frame at very bottom of photo. The part that covers the seatbelt also fits in a slot but it's not a clip deal. It just drops in.
Actually, you can see the four slots in the first picture if you want an idea of where you need to pull.
That's for a Limited 3rd row seats model. Not sure the others are made that way.

Got some new rubber today. The new Cooper AT3 XLT in 285's. Probably need to do some adjustments on my coilovers and maybe some trimming. Was previously running 265 BFG KO2 and have nothing but good things to say about them. Just thought I'd try a different tire when I moved up.
Also these were $205 at Big-O tires and you can fit one in the spare location

Did the fender liner mod, melted the cowl plastic to fit the cbi brackets, mounted new tires, pushed in the mud flaps and respooled the winch line. Not a bad way to start my vacation. Now the electrical works starts tomorrow. This is not something I am looking forward to.

Holy Cow, they look massive compared to my 265 s4.
The tread looks the same and I love the ride feel. I have no need for the extra girth and strength of those tires. I'm mostly road and off road will be beach sand most likely.
But these things track great and I can feel the road. I have a Limited with XREAS and it's really flat. Not sports car touchy and not boaty. It's the perfect thing for my driving.
Those 285s look great for you guys out in the rocks. I think they are going to be a very popular tire. The new AT3 series that is. Cooper must have really been listening.

Oh let's see...I mounted my SSO rock sliders again after painting them. I started painting my Rago molle panels until the spray can makfunctioned, covering the floor and me with splatters of black paint.
And best of all, I got a call from the Toyota dealer asking if I wanted to trade in my 2016 for a new one. Hahahahahaha. This one has 18k miles and isn't close to final build.

Yeah they should be a very good tire for Cooper. They came out with a couple of variations of the AT3 this time around with the 4S, LT, and XLT. I think the things that detracted buyers from the AT3 was the size options and lack of aggressive sidewall. Seems like they fixed both issues this time around. I'm not sure what else they upgraded but given that it won Overland Journal's tire round-up they didn't really need to improve too much. They could use better marketing however. They definitely don't have the press, social medial and youtube clout that BFG had with the KM3's. BFG seemed to provide every influential youtuber and instagram celebrity a set of KM3's to test out. They even had a huge press event for the release.
One thing I did notice was that the 4S has the 3 peak snow symbol. The LT and XLT don't have the same designation even though the tread looks very similar. For me the true test will be how well it handles snow and ice since I live in the mountains. I thought my KO2's which also had the 3 peak snow symbol did very good in the winter.
My initial impressions of the AT3 XLT is very good. I was leary making the jump to an E-rated tire but they aren't too harsh or jarring, although I can tell it's stiffer than my previous C-rated tires. Out of the box they drive very smooth and really quiet. It kind of surprised me how well mannered they are on the road. My KO2's had that wet pet sound when they were new and started to develop a hum about 5 thousand miles ago. I got about 70k out of them so I can't complain and they never left me stranded. Time will tell how the AT3's perform and how durable they are. The KO2's are a 3-ply sidewall and the AT3's are only 2-ply so hopefully a jagged rock doesn't come get me.

Fixed a lingering problem with an exhaust smell, made another problem, attempted to fix the new problem. Put on new plates and stickers.
Finally got and uploaded the dyno graph after the URD/Whipple SC install.
Also dropped off the dash kits at the body shop for painting, and finally finished soldering the harness. Still waiting on another forgotten adapter to arrive from Crutchfield (will retain OEM Aux Input).
