I installed on the top groove and got about 2.75-3", I also have KDSS which affects the height.

...I have made 2 trips to the Beartooth-Scenic-Highway, located about 100 miles east of Bozeman, MT....and 60 miles south...starting in the nifty and quaint little ski-town of Red Lodge...
...The town is at 5,583 elevation...and the road runs southwest for 63 miles, ending in the town of Cooke-City, at the North-East entrance to Yellowstone National Park....( along the way, it goes over an 11,000 foot elevation pass )...
...The day was too cloudy and threatened rain..as well as fire smoke-haze...so my pics aint so great...but ya can still get a good idea of the fantastic scenery and views along the way, anyway....
...The temps in town were 66 degrees...but they dropped as rapidly as the road climbs up outta the valley!
...( btw: I post these pics directly from my computer, so have not found a way to place comments under each pic...which is why all the text is above here...)...:noidea:
...On top of the pass the temp dropped to 44 degrees...and the wind got up to about the same number in MPH!.....

...The pass is rather windswept....and since your body is the tallest thing up there...it gets pushed around quite a bit....( probably not the best place to be during a lightning-storm, either?! )....
...the last pic of the sign is at the 45th parallel....meaning at that point, geographically...one if equidistant from the Equator...and the North-Pole...

....Almost at the top of the pass on the Beartooth-Highway, we can see HOW this road got it's name in the first place....way across the valley...
...One of the distant peaks is shaped like a giant bear-tooth....and early explorers had to use their imaginations...since they didnt have HBO....or even cable!...
...I uploaded 3 pics going from distant to closeup to illustrate.....
...Very near where I took these pics...there was a large pullout on a hairpin curve...and I saw a photo-op which I took advantage of...it was at 9,000-foot elevation, with a 3,500-foot drop to the valley below...:wow:
...I would give it about a 9.2 sphincter-factor....as I really had NO idea how firm or solid the edge was......Trust me....the edge looked a LOT closer in person!...:jaw:
...( Without a spotter....this was as close as I dared to get...cos in the back of my mind...I had this image of another vehicle pulling up later....only to find my phone on a tripod....and a large chunk of the edge gone....along with me and my 4runner...)...:fear:

...As it was getting late...plus the crappy weather conditions..I decided to drive back thru Yellowstone NP, on the northern road...as it would be fastest...or so I thought?...
...I got caught up in the rush-hour commuter traffic jam.....caused by bison on the road...and stupid tourists...this cost me 20 minutes....
....But...30 minutes down the road....I came across this odd situation...an old bull bison was ambling along up the white-line of the road...causing quite the 2-way traffic jam...
...He didn't give a rat's-ass about the cars waitin to get past him....so he just took his sweet time, oblivious to the cars behind and in front of him...probably chuckling to himself...
...Besides, WHO was gonna argue with a 1-TON speed-bump anyway?!.....a snail coulda beat him in a race!...and so this was another 20-minutes of sitting...and laughing mostly....
...Traffic was ALL at the mercy of this one critter...but it still beat the Hell outta the over 4-decades of miserable commutes I suffered thru in Chicago and Los Angeles!...
...By the time I got back home....I had driven 485 miles and spent 13 hours on the roads...but it was All worth it to experience this fantastic area!....

Ha ha! Yeah, it’s pretty common in Yellowstone to have huge long duration traffic jams for bison crossings. It’s amazing.
But that was for only one critter?
I was there September 2017 and saw hundreds on the road at one time. The rangers have external loudspeakers on their vehicles that blast out a loud clacking noise to try to roust them on their way. It only marginally works. They only move when they’re ready. Meanwhile you wait!

I spent Saturday and Sunday working on our '18 TRD ORP. Installed a set of Baja Designs Squadron amber lights that I had left over from a previous project in the factory fog position. I'm very happy with how that turned out. I opted not to use the clear Squadrons I had and will probably use those for ditch lights later.
I also used some Krylon spray bed liner to black out the silver front fascia trim while I had the bumper cover off. It looks good from a distance but I am overall not pleased with how it looks up close. BUT... it is temporary until my SSO Slimline bumper arrives, so it will suffice for now.
I also installed and then removed the Rago Fabrication "Behind the Grille" light bar brackets with top-bar. I realized while doing it that I wouldn't be able to use any of it with my SSO bumper since you remove the factory bash bar and that's where Rago kit goes.
Oh well. It's up for sale in the Classifieds here if anyone wants to save some money. Never really used. Just installed and then immediately removed, all within about 30 minutes.

At just over 20K miles, I had the front automatic differential disconnect (ADD) replaced for the second time since i bought the vehicle in September of 2016.
The first replacement was in November last year.
The part number has changed, so I hope they made a change / improvement. Old part # 41400-35033 | New part # 41400-35034.

I engage and work it once a month if not off-roading. The one last year was completely corroded.
I have the technical assistance worksheet from this year's replacement. The voltages measured correct except terminal DL2. Should be 12 volts (when in 4 HI) and was reading 0.

Since it's still under warranty I would leave it alone internally but once it goes out of warranty it would be a good idea to remove it, clean it up, and seal it before reinstalling. Would be a good idea to put some dielectric grease on the plug no though especially if you're going through water / mud

I always find that if you want your girlfriend or wife to come out on the trails with you, it is best to teach them the joys of off-road driving. I got new tires and wheels last week, so I took my girlfriend out to test them and give her a little time in the driver's seat. She did great, and we had a great time navigating some "rock gardens" on the Coney Flats trail in northern Colorado.

I did that when my T4 was new, I was not able to get back into the left front seat for over 2 hours.
