Experienced two third brake light leaks into the cabin in less than a year. CPS recall, leaking rear differential recall, Kazoo noise from lower control arms, transmission shifting issues. It was spending more time at the dealership getting TSBs and warranty issue than it was in my garage. I also bought it when I lived in New England so hot weather wasn’t really an issue. After moving to SoCal we do most of our off roading in the desert areas where it averages above 90 degrees year round. I have two very big dogs that go everywhere with us, putting them in the back of the truck in the hard shell really wasn’t an option when it’s that hot, so now we can put them in the back of the T4R and they get the A/C.

Got rid of my 2016 Tacoma after 3500 miles and bought my 2016 4Runner. The new Tacoma is a total POS It's sad, it's a beautiful looking truck but the 3.5 is gutless and the 6 speed automatic has no idea what it wants to do. The 4R being Japanese built is also far superior in fit and finish.

...I wanted a Tacoma since they first came out 20 years ago....and was finally ready to buy one about a year ago...

...but then....so many owners were havin serious probs with the 3rd-gen...it really turned me off...( 1st new model year teething problems that dragged on into year two?! )....

...So I started looking seriously into the 4runner...and the more I looked...the more I liked it...and got it 8 months ago....

...at this point...I love the vehicle...and am SO glad I decided to switch my purchase!...:thumb:

...Oh, and I moved away from SoCal for those very same reasons....Hate the heat!....Love the mountains and snow!...:cowboy:

Hi, it tows fine. About 4500 pounds loaded with fuel. 4Runner will pull 5000. I have been pulling this boat for 17 years with a 4Runner. 14 years was with a 3rd gen =)

LFD Offroad cross bars. Sometime in the summer I'm going to order the 7/8ths rack.

Do those bars fit/work on the factory rails? Any closer pics of them? The OEM crossbars are too close to the roof for my cargo box.

Another 4Runner pulling ~4500 lbs of trailer/boat with no complaints here. Does it like a champ.

Jesus my 4runner doesn’t like towing a 6x12 uhaul trailer, couldn’t imagine that much weight.

Just bought the T4R back in late August. 85,000 miles on the odometer, figured it was time for some work. Suspension, rear brake pads. Changed oil in front diff, rear diff and transfer case. The rear diff was pretty dirty. Front diff and transfer case weren’t too bad at all. Rear brake pads were on their last leg. Oh and I received my AJT key fob. Ordered it on Thursday, received it on Sauturday. +10HP after all of that I imagine lol.
