What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Had the performance shop try to find the whack-a-mole exhaust leak causing me headaches. Good news is we know it is not the problem it has been before. So not at the header to y-pipe connection on the driver's side, or anywhere towards the tailpipe. Bad news, the leak is coming from somewhere between the engine and the Y-pipe. That means to find it we need to remove the header, of course on the driver's side disconnecting the steering column and such. Needed to order some gaskets, so back to the shop again just before Valentine's Day.

Slowly but surely making boring progress...

$300+ for OEM parts? Nah
$300 quote for painting? Nah

Decided to spend $30 on supplies and make my silver valances black myself. Good amount of wet sanding, followed by paint, followed by wet sanding, followed by paint and then a bit more paint a few days later and "wallah!"

Thanks! I hate body work and paint work stuff but it's kind of hard to justify paying 10x more just for a satin black trim paint.

Slippery as Snot

Started down a steep, wet, moss covered driveway. Going very slow, applied brakes and they locked up, no ABS action. Started to slide the wrong way, let off brakes, turned gently to adjust path, applied brakes and got a little ABS action. Made it down OK. Surprised me how slippery that stuff can be.

Used 4L and locker for the trip back up, no slippage.

Left two long clear patches in the moss.

got tired of the winter. been rising the salt off with bottles of water in the garage. had enough and bought a sprayer to do it. so every night I will take the sprayer in the garage and rinse off the salt as best I can. but now I can do the frame as well.

cant wait for this polar vortex crap to be over. but that meguiar's mirror glaze I have been using is making this an easy chore!

Hmmm? Is that low beam only photo correct? I don’t notice any cutoff region. It looks almost like the high beam photo.
If so, you’re gonna light blast oncoming traffic real bad.

Yea they did. When I ordered them, I asked for the full spoke decals in orange. You can ask for just the lettering if you didn't want want the full spoke decal.
