Far brighter. Honestly maybe slightly too bright for dense fog conditions, but since moving to CA I haven't run into really dense fog like I used to in New England and the Midwest.

That tire should have been patched from the inside not plugged like that.

What are plugs for then? It's holding air just fine, figured I'd keep an eye on it just in case it starts to drain.

Believe it or not, plugs have been outlawed by DOT in a lot of states. Plugs are in an extreme emergency to get you to a tire shop to have it fixed properly. The theory is, while likely uncommon, when you ream out the hole before installing the plug, the metal under the tread can be broken. That can cause separation and catastrophic tire failure. While I'm sure this doesn't happen often, it had to have happened often enough to get the attention of the DOT or others to have that law passed.

Yeah it's holding air but I wouldn't consider that a permanent fix. I'd bring it to a tire shop and have a plug / patch done from the inside. Your truck and your safety though.

Road tripped her!
Got back today from living out of her for 2 weeks...
Slept a night @ KOH FN Cold even the water bottles in the truck froze lol! Awesome time met some cool as shit people even the wifey liked it enough to go back.:cheers:

Had a Trail Hit me back! Bent a spindle wish I would have had them gusseted before I went but have been busy on the other truck which has gusseted spindles lol... Also Huge thanks to the T4R that followed us off the trail don't know if he is a member here but a big thanks and I owe you one!!!!! If you ever come to Texas I will buy you a beer and steak dinner!

Had a cup of coffee this morning and pulled it's little brother out of the garage and decided it needs glass and bigger tires after this trip! :biggrin2:

Picked up a matching toy with the TRD!
1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 with 1,400 miles!
As a little backstory, my family has 3 of these machines from this generation, including: 1997 335cc (Grandpa's), 1998 500cc (Uncle's) and a 2000 335cc (Dad's). I have always wanted my own to add to the collection and Saturday was the day! Mods are already in route....

Eh, I'd argue it's also everyone else on the road around him's safety too.
I would only ever use those "gas station plugs" in an emergency situation to get home. Permanent fix is to dismount tire, drill out hole, buff the area, glue, plug, and patch from the inside using a "stitcher".

I guess the DOT solution is to just sit by the road and wait for a DOT truck to come help you? You've got to get to a shop somehow, and I'm not walking...

Hey I’ve got a set of the Ronnie raptor lights. They didn’t come with install instructions. I’m torn between fitting with the switches as it’s cool or an switch pro. Could you explain or show pics of your light install please.

GEtting it ready for a few trips with my bike. I made one of those things that attaches to the fork and my bike fits on one side. Then I realized that my foam mattress will have rise on it cause of the 3" difference between the fold down rear seats and the rear area. Did some digging around the forum and made one of these. I added some anchor points as well.
Not sure if I'm going to paint it (cost effective) or find some carpeting. But for now, it works.

You clearly didn't read my post. I stated, plugs are for an extreme emergency, not a permanent solution. Either leave the bolt in there and get to the tire shop for a proper repair OR plug if you absolutely have no choice and then get to a tire shop for a proper fix. That or simply use your spare and go to a tire shop for a proper fix, that would be the smart thing to do and in most cases the only option since most people don't carry an air compressor with them.
