Got some shore power installed. I went with the 4 amp because i just did not have enough room for the 10 amp.

Also added the noco plug to make things. Were got invited to go camping last minute this weekend and i impule bought a fridge and wanted to make sure i had a way to charge the 2nd battery.

Im going to just wire the rear cig lighter to a simple switch to run as constant when it comes tomorrow.

I don't plan on doing anything serious, but it still should give some protection to the rockers. Unless you think they are just gonna bend like a beer can?... I know they won't support the weight of the vehicle, just some protection. I have bottomed out on these with the steps installed, no damage, just chipped paint and some scrape on the steps.

Dont overthink this. Run the fake sliders. They will protect the bottom of your truck better than nothing.

Thanks. I will run with them. But I agree with what Mutant said about possibly causing more damage with them on...that is if I bash on em. I don't "plan" on doing that. Just a casual day off-roading at the park. Besides, I'm going with a buddy who is putting his, new to him, Wrangler Rubicon off-road for the first time and the plan is to take it easy, no serious technical stuff.

Made some progress on the retro

yasssss. how bad was the permaseal? my f250 housings were an absolute b1tch. I manipulated the one too much trying to separate it and upon reassembly in the sunlight i noticed it has spider cracks in the entire lens:wow: Retro butyl is sooo much easier to open up lol.

Got the fridge ready! Ran power from my aux batt to a switch then to the rear cig lighter. I just cut its power and soldered a wire to my switch.

[2016 4Runner SR5]

Installed a Borla 40665 muffler under it tonight. I am very undecided, not sure I like it. Around town it's quite loud and not the good kind of loud. From a stop, even gentle acceleration it's quite loud, again, not the good loud. On the highway I am happy, no drone and nice and quiet. I do notice an immediate difference in passing power and I notice the engine seems to not work as hard. I say that because the engine definitely climbs through the RPM band quite a bit faster than it did with the stock muffler and it seems to do so much smoother. We'll see if there is any increase in fuel economy over the next week or two and I will make my decision at that point. Only issue is, if I want to go back to stock, I have to find someone local with a stock muffler laying around!

It was a total b*tch! I bought aftermarket OEM replacements thinking that they would be butyl, boy was I wrong. They were a huge pain in the ass and a definite learning curve, but now that I've done it I know all the tricks so there's that. I definitely didn't crack the lens thank god...

That's strange. Mine is louder in local driving but not a bad sound at all. No it ain't a V8 but I don't expect it will ever sound like that and it's not that loud even with the rear window down. I noticed the same thing with the power though and I'm really liking that a lot.

lmaoooo that sucks. Yea i must've twisted my driver side one just the right amount to add the custom look of spider cracks:juggle: it hasn't bothered me enough to pull it apart and open another OEM one tho. knowing me i'll just break both of them and have a truck with no driver side headlights.
