What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Unboxed the suspension to make sure everything is good to go. ****ing Dobsions box weighed a metric ton. Almost reblew my knees and back moving it around.

Prepped and put an initial coat down on my JBA UCAs. Apartment padio cardboard box paint booth. Neighbor's probably love me.

Going to try and throw it all on the truck this weekend. Also buying a home rn so things are busy. A normal person might wait till closing to do this. But, I'm an idiot with shitty priorities.

What? You don’t like the purty colors? :artist:

I like like everything to look like it came that way from the factory. Dobinsons didn't have black coils all around tho :/ Dobinsons teal will be pretty cool against all black tho.

Red however, I really don't like (hate it on my trd intake). Like a honda civic with red brake calipers it's projecting an image of something it's not (*coughs in Ferrari). Too much "look at me" with red. Good for firetrucks and Ferraris dumb on everything else.

That's right red parts/accents are lame. I said it.

Did the 9005 --> 9011 halogen replacement for my high beams during my lunch break. Also received confirmation from XD that the newest batch of Morimoto 2Stroke LEDs will have indexing bases for our H11 housings. I believe I will be getting a replacement for my passenger side, which has an offset beam pattern/ hot spot.

I have had that borla catback sitting in my cart on amazon (2.5 or 3"?). But, I really have to watch the spending. About to buy a house.

If money was not option I would go full custom exhaust from the block back 2.5 or 3" (I would have to research which would achieve optimal back pressure). Keep the trd intake with the oem filter but dyno tune the engine for normal fuel (as this is an adventure vehicle not a drag car).

IMO, the cat back is not worth buying, especially for $600 I bought just the muffler, stock engine pipe, stock tail pipe. Nice and mellow until you jump on it which is exactly what I wanted. PN of the muffler I used is 40665

I agree 100% I painted the red coils on my TRD Pro shocks black because I hated the red. The silver of the 6112s and 5160s under there doesn't bother me but otherwise I want it all clean and black.

I've seen your front end, it doesn't look "factory" bruh :nono:

I'm very happy with the Borla Cat-Back, great sound, great increase in performance, great throttle response, bolts right up. To each their own

My muffler cost me $100, yours was $600, and we both got the same results. Yes, bolt on convenience is definitely worth something, but not an additional $500

I only paid $500, and used Amazon gift cards to get gas points, so whatever like I said to each their own. I didn't have to pay an exhaust shop to install mine

Neither did I. Did the install myself. But like you said, to each their own. For $100 I'm happy but for $500 I think there are other mods I would rather do.

It's quite pricey. But, it's actually opening the system up to a larger diameter (power +) instead of just making sound.

Welding one in is simple enough although I find the welds don't hold up like a nice stainless unit would.

Stock pipe is 2 3/8 I absolutely gained power with the install. Nice bump in passing power, truck pulls harder, smoother, and father, through the entire RPM range. I have a TRD intake with an AFE Pro Dry filter also which I'm sure helps. With the intake, I really didn't notice much. The muffler made a big difference though, no regrets at all. As for the welds, you can either weld it with stainless wire, stick, or TIG it. If you use regular steel wire, high temp paint will help with the welds. If they fail, which will take quite a while, clean it up and weld it again.

Ah well fair enough I can see that. Did you run the exit at a larger diameter?

True about the welds. I'm prob thinking about the "quality" mig welds I have seen deteriorate back where it's snows and all that bullshit.

Shit they may be the same size... I never even considered that. In that case I would go weld in allllll day. Maybe sooner then I thought.

Treated myself to some X-Bull Recovery Boards on an Amazon special! $150 out the door for a set of 4.

They aren't Maxtrax quality, but for 1/4 of the price, they are going to be great. I couldn't bring myself to pay $600 for a set of 4 Maxtrax. These will be used pretty lightly, so I am sure they will work well. Nice to have a little peace of mind given that I don't have a winch.
