What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

There were no telltale signs. The first free weekend I had after I purchased it, I tore into the dash (wait...doesn't everyone do this?) to install some electrical mods, and saw a large ziptie behind the left side of the dash. Toyota does not use zipties for anything, so I looked to see what it was holding. Saw the tracker. I had also noticed a cable hanging lower than I thought it should, right above the parking brake. It was the OBDII daisy-chain cable that was connected to the tracker. Then I Googled the model number printed on it and found out what it was.

Thank you. Time to put on my Sherlock Holmes hat, pipe and magnifying glass.

Now, what to do with it?

I used to install these at the dealership I worked at. I always hardwired them in to the harness under the dash with starter kill. Those OBD2 jumpers are a joke and super easy to spot. I would just pitch it. Its useless unless you are the dealer that owned it or you bought rights to it from said dealership. Some dealerships put them in all of their cars and then just add it to the vehicle cost on their side. One less thing to deal with on a busy sales day. BTW if its is active they would of had to have you sign a disclosure.

I know the dealers here in Houston install that Apex POS on their cars and then up charge you under the guise of "GPS tracking in case of theft" :fish:

I've been so busy with a newborn...I need to go yank it out myself.

Finally got around to installing my OEM floor LED's. Baffling how Toyota thinks its ok to omit them from a vehicle in this price range, but thankfully Old Red on here has the perfect solution! Took me months however, and two different Canuckistan dealers to get these two parts but they eventually showed up at the parts department. Anyway - once again, props to Old Red for the plug & play wiring harness :hatsoff:

Yes - on the parking light illumination. So if you elect to dim your dash lights they will follow suit.

Holy cow, didn't even know this was a thing... Paid cash for mine too, so I'll be looking for one of these hiding somewhere. Good find!
