What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Week two of my Coastal Offroad rear bumper build. Didn't like the blocky look of the kit but liked the price. I tacked the bumper kit together as it was shipped to me then started in on customizing it. 4 of the corners got cut out and replaced with a section of 1.38" OD dom to make the corners flow a little better. There was also room to cut another facet into the rear. Basically cut a pyramid shaped piece out of each side, starting from just outside the rear mounting bolts to nearly the shackle hangers. Hard to see in the pics but it basically makes the bumper look like it is tapered up and forward from the back. Still have plans to integrate some backup lights.

Spare tire carrier was needed for the 295/70-17's that went on a few weeks back. Winged it on the carrier, using a 4X Innovations hinge/tire plate and Destaco clamp. A ball/socket setup near the clamp eliminates any movement when latched. Spare is parallel to the rear window leaving room under it for a hi-lift jack (mount TBD).

This looks great, definite improvement with the modifications.

Took the tent off, gave the T4R a wash and then drove the family to Coeur d'Alene to visit the in-laws for the weekend. Went to a pumpkin patch, drank some cider, watched LSU whip Florida. Took a detour on the way home to check out Grand Coulee Dam.

It was a really pleasant weekend.

Very cool! I'm glad people are starting to break away from the "I need a Gobi train" I'm guilty of that but was lucky enough to get one second hand to avoid the huge lead time and price tag. If I were to do it again I would try to get creative like you or go the Front Runner route. Love to see DIY stuff on this thread, keep it up!

Ebay. These are Prado covers and they fit.

I keep mine in the passengers side wall storage area. I have a tarp folded over it so it doesnt move or bang around and the first aid kit fits nicely behind it. I'll probably take it out after I winterize my boat next month anyhow.

Yesterday I had the day off so I wire wheeled and brushed some surface frame rust, cleaned it off and then spray painted the areas with some chassis/undercarriage paint. Happy with the results.

I also did the H 9 swap for my low beams (Philips H9), swapped the fogs for Hella yellows and installed Sirius LED reverse lights. Everything came out great and is lookin good!

No. If you look closely, I carved out the shape of the side of the hitch in the foam, so it snuggles in securely..about a 5/8 of an inch. Doesn't move at all. I haven't hit a negative-G bump yet, so I don't know if it will try to levitate.

Sadly, my SR5 (with 3rd row) doesn't have that side wall storage area. So this was the only area I could find that it would fit in, and not be visible. I need to bang the rust off of the hitch.

Right on, I wasn't able to tell from the pic. I've been debating doing exactly what you did with the hitch so I have it with me when needed.

I have an ammo can mounted on my trailer that holds the hitch. One less thing to rattle on washboarded dirt roads. I hate rattles

I looked to do this today but my '19 SR5 has a one piece panel. There is no removable piece. That sucks.

He has 3rd row, that's why this panel come off and has space below it. The plastic interior panels on the 4Runner with 3rd row sits about 4" higher than the non 3rd row models. Ours without 3rd row has a panel that sits just about flush with the floor so there would be no room under it store anything at all.
