My dealer lent me a Tacoma for a day while my 4Runner was in for the airbag recall. I couldn't believe how crappy the Tacoma felt inside. And the drivetrain was worse.

Same here, seating position on the Taco was horrible for me, plus like you guys said, interior was unpleasant.
I also took a look at the Supra they had in the showroom. I do like the way it looks in person and the interior is really nice looking, but damn, I think visibility out of that thing is worse than the current generation Camaros.
Unfortunately for the price and performance, I would take a GT350 every day of the week. That will unfortunately be the baseline for my opinion on all future sports cars and it's hard to beat. Hopefully one day I can be in a position to purchase another one to park alongside the 4Runner.

Bulb Swap
Finally had a halogen burn out so ordered the Auxbeam T1 H11 for low beams. They have an adjustable beam pattern so had to do a little tweaking to get the passenger side to project correctly but am overall very happy with them. Quite a bit brighter than stock and no dust cap modification required.

thanks, I would have liked the rear shocks 1" longer and then will have to re-position the rear ABS wire bracket. The tundra rear shocks I had were not going to work due to the lower eye size difference. Only reason being when I drop one rear wheel off the curb I feel the full extension, flying over speed humps not noticed. The fronts I added the spacer collar to extend struts slightly. I also added a spacer collar for rear sway bar link extender. It was the smoothest & easy install I have had cause the coils were not too tall or struts not too long. 1.25" wheel spacers added as well.

Pick up some 3rd gen rear sway bar links. Perfect length when used on a 5th gen with 2-3 inches of lift. Moog PN K80380

Owned one. Agree with most everything said.
But... All black interior is sooo much cozier, modern, and generally appealing. It's also way more practical because the headliner is more of a satin/polyester material. No more black finger smudges from just the oils in your skin (my headliner is already gross at 15K of medium use). The grey on grey for half of our truck is so dated. It's one of my least favorite things visually about the trucks. Maybe one day I get it reupholstered in a similar material and paint those grey panels.

I went through 3 different 3rd gen tacomas. The 1st was a 2016 SR 4cyl. Totaled due to a young lady that just got her license not paying attention, then went and got a 2016 SR5 V6 2WD, had it a year and then traded it for a 2017 SR5 4WD... I loved every one of them. No transmission or drivetrain issues, no issues with the interiors, no issues PERIOD... hell even the 2016 SR5 tacoma had more interior technology than our 2019 4runners...
I traded the 2017 sr5 taco in on a 2019 SR5 4runner ONLY because i got a really amazing deal. I wasnt even looking to trade my truck at the time. The 4 runner does drive smoother on the road, but not by much, the knobs and stuff are a bit nicer, again not by much, but the lack of tire pressure display and the outdated dash display cancels out any of the other interior pluses of the 4runner.
I dont regret the trade, but i also dont think either is THAT MUCH better than the other. They both have their own set of pluses and minuses in my opinion. I miss the truck bed and center dash display of the taco, but like the seat and smoother ride on the 4runner.
Personally I think they both look great... And both do well off road.

I loved my 2016 Tacoma also but that 3.5 is definitely not a truck engine. It's great in my 2019 Highlander but it was horrible in the Tacoma. Traded it in after 3500 miles that's how much I couldn't stand it.

Yes it's quite a beastly bumper. It's not for everyone but I love the simple and stout design. Didn't need all the unnecessary bells and whistles of the other aftermarket bumpers. The quality and clearance is unreal though. I'll post a mini-review and thoughts on the bumper once I get it cleaned up and get better pictures.
Pretty sure we were on this exact trail (in the vid below) on Saturday but going the other way. At 1:14 we stacked rocks to avoid that boulder sticking into the trail. 2:33 we took a short cut around that section. Lastly at 3:09 I had gravity on my side coming from the other direction and went right though that mud hole.

RCI TCase Skid Exhaust Gap
Figured this didn't need it's own thread so here goes. Just finished installing all of my RCI skids and I had read a ton about how the exhaust typically contacts the TCase skid. I know RCI includes spacers to gap the front of the TCase skid so it doesn't contact, but I tightened everything down and I have a fairly decent gap already. I didn't want to unnecessarily add the spacers and lose some ground clearance if I could avoid it.
Gonna take it for a ride and see what happens but what do people think? Is this enough of a gap for the exhaust to not flex and bang/rattle on the TCase skid?
