Decent start. Can’t wait to get this thing done. Very happy with this Coastal Offroad kit so far. Very precise cuts have made it pretty easy. Still have to get a good bead all around and put the front bottom plate and center hoop on. And paint of course. Will post when finished.

500 Bucks isn't too bad for a bumper.. I wonder about quality. Did you have to tell them you had an older 5th gen? The pics they have are for the late 5th gens.

There is an option when ordering to select that you have a 10-13. I was never able to find a picture of one on an early model, so I just decided I'd give it a shot. My brother had a welder and is helping me with that. He hasn't done a great deal of welding, but it has been very straightforward with just a couple items we've had to work around. I'll post some more pictures as we progress. Hoping to at least get all the welding done within the week. It will then just be a matter of weather cooperating enough to paint.

Just installed the Borla S Type exhaust into the 2016 4Runner limited.

Few tips:
Instructions say 15mm socket - wrong. It’s 14mm.


The screws near the rear axle are IMPOSSIBLE to take off, I don’t know if it’s because of the rust or if they just welded it on the other side but it took a cutting torch to heat the screws enough to take off. (Didn’t want to ruin the factory exhaust but just cutting it off)

Take the heat shield off near the rear axle, super easy to snake out the tubing.

Overall it took 4 hours, a cutting torch, a ton of penetrating spray and WD40. Haven’t broken the exhaust in but already notice a nice growl coming from it and can feel a little bit of power. I have it paired with a K&N CAI so cant wait to see the results in a few months once it’s broken in.

Took her on the first long trip from NY to North Carolina to do some hunting. 860 miles. She ran great, averaged almost 20MPG with some local driving down there. Had about 250 lbs of meat and I don't know how much weight in ice in the coolers plus all my hunting stuff. It did have a bit of a squat in the rear but handled normally. On dark, country roads the H9 conversion made a huge difference. So much better than the H11's.

Little bit more today. Probably gonna have to put it on hold the next few days, but hoping before the coming weekend we can get the front plate on and all weliding done. Then I will have some grind time before painting. Was on the fence about how tall to leave the center hoop. Ultimately left it as was. Kinda liked it sticking up a bit.

Wasn't airborne, just a wheel flex. It was very gradual. Didn't even realize how massive it was until i got the shots from my boy.

Changed out lights last night. HID lows and LED fogs in yellow. Added black badges today. I’m really not a fan of the little chrome grille accents. Might paint those black later on.
