After having a RAM mount in my 3rd gen for many years this was the first thing I did to my 5th gen. I could roll the truck and I'm pretty sure the phone would stay put. It truly is one handed operation as the phone does not budge when tapping in commands. Most importantly for me having the screen within my line of sight, no taking my eyes off the road.

Install was very easy. That vid link is great. I added larger
rubber washers and metal washers. I was being extra cautious about brittle dash plastic as it gets below 0 where I am.

Thanks for the idea. I'll be doing this also. What compressor are you using to air up all 4 tires at once? I'm wondering if my 300p is even capable of doing so. Bad thing is I'm running "35's" so obviously will probably struggle

Shock sensor

Over the weekend, I added a shock sensor to the stock alarm. It was a fairly easy four wires installation. If your stock alarm is enabled. This is a cheap DIY upgrade without spending a lot of money on an aftermarket alarm system. Also no additional remote. Just use your stock remote.

Can you provide more information about this shock sensor, really interested.

I havent tried towing anything yet, but for a 4k lbs trailer, I would definitely remove the carrier and use the OEM hitch receiver. Honestly, the only thing I'd probably use the built in hitch on the carrier is for something like a bike rack.

It doesnt take long at all to remove the Detours carrier. Remove the spare wheel (unless you're a beast and can carry both the wheel and carrier simultaneously), undo the wedge lock bolt, remove hitch lock (if you have one, which you should), then just pull it off.

My new Rigd has a 10,000 lbs towing capacity. If you factor in the cost of powder coating, the Rigd unit isn't that much more in price. The Rigd comes assembled and powder coated already.

I got tired of opening and closing the hood to air up. I decided on mounting near the windshield after I saw another post of someone putting an electrical outlet there. Also I didn't want it anywhere that may get caked with mud.

I have no idea what the actual towing rating is. Dont plan on ever towing so I never asked. Even if my Detours was rated at 10k, personally, I'd still remove it before towing anything significant. If towing was that important to me, I probably wouldve just gotten a full metal swingout bumper.

Also, for anyone wondering, I painted mine so my all in cost was around $690 (not including the high lift mount). But yeah if you gets your professionally powdercoated youd probably be getting a little close to Rigd prices.

Nice work. How solid is your mount there? Is it attached to metal or plastic trim? Seem little close to windshield with metal quick connectors. Any concerns?

Ram phone mount with female ball adapter. Drilled a small hole and used a bolt to secure it in place.

Yep, front windows have a greenish hue. After applying tint over them, it’s no longer noticeable.

Be sure to tint over all of the back windows, as the OEM tint is really light.

I installed RSG Metalwork’s angled DOM sliders with filler plates, and could not be happier with the results and look. Great customer experience and service, as well.

Swapped out the Yakima MegaWarrior for a Rola rack. Used low profile mounts flipped upside down from 4x4Innovations. Looks so much better, the profile almost has a factory feel to it.

...Last Fall I made a short video...and then lost it in my editing program?...:violin:

...Other things got in the way...like LIFE....and I just re-discovered it...:reddance:....( the video...not Life! )...:shrug:

...It was a test for a series of videos I considered producing...and I used a very cheap Chinese GoPro-knockoff.....( $39-bucks! )..
....but it did give me the proof-of-concept results I was lookin for...and I eventually went out and bought a DJI-Osmo-Action cam....:thumb3:

...Anyway, my thinking here is that oftentimes...our offroad-adventure locations are quite far from where we live...
...and the trips to get to those offroad locations are equally beautiful and exciting...as in the Road-Trip is half the journey of discovery and enjoyment...

...So..going on this theory...here is the short film I did last year:
